Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) - Batch of 2024

3.2

The faculty members are good. Facilities are not much great, but overall I had a fine experience.
Placements: Our college offers various medical as well as para-medical courses for under-graduation and post-graduation. For the course of MBBS, the batch has about 150 students, out of which the majority percentage of students (about 50%-55%) of doctors got placed in different regions as EMOs or medical officers in the government sector. Rest of the doctors usually apply for the post-graduation degree.
Infrastructure: The college is well-equipped with all the medical instruments and machines. The labs are well-equipped with all the apparatuses and instruments. The college has a library, which has a variety of books on the syllabus. Along with that, there is a common girls' room, a reading room and a common boys' room for students. The campus does not have any Wi-Fi facilities. The hostels are fine and accommodate 2 students in one room. There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. The food served in the mess is also fine. The college has 2 canteens, among which one is in the hospital and one in the college. Along with that, there is a good complex near the hospital, which has a fine number of shops. The college is located in the hills, so there is no great playground. However, there is a playground, but it is in bad condition. There are gyms in and out of the campus.
Faculty: The faculty members here are good. They are always ready to help students. They are quite good and quite qualified. The college follows a strict curriculum under the guidance of NMC. The exams are conducted properly and timely. The passing percentage for the exams is 50%.
Other: The college is in the mountains, so fests are not conducted here, but the college gives attendance if you want to attend a fest of any other medical college. There are not many extracurricular activities in the college because of its location. However, many conferences and one sports week are organised a year. There are connectivity issues, and few options are available for travelling.

Review of Maharishi Markandeshwar University Solan - MMU.
Placements: The number of students per batch is 150, and each one of them got a job. So the placement rate is 100%. The highest salary offered is 1.10 lac per month, the minimum salary offered is Rs. 40,000 per month and the average salary offered is Rs. 70,000 per month. All small scale and large scale hospitals across India recruit students from our college. Students can also apply for a government job in their respective state. All the jobs can be obtained easily. Top hospitals recruiting our graduates are AIIMS Safdarjung, Fortis, Max, etc. Students are offered roles like a medical officer (MO), junior resident (JR), demonstrator and assistant professor. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 16 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 8 LPA and the average salary package offered is 12 LPA. Almost 100% of the students from our course get an internship in the same university and hospital, i.e., MMCH.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi, centrally air-conditioned lecture halls, 21 libraries, 4 labs, basketball court, tennis court, 2 canteens, free pharmacy, auditorium, cricket ground, indoor sports room, a dedicated reading room and a multispeciality hospital with dedicated clinics.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, highly qualified and extremely knowledgeable. Teaching quality is poor for some subjects like biochemistry and community medicine, but it is excellent in other subjects. Overall, it is good. The course curriculum is relevant, and students have to study 5 and a half years to be ready to treat a wide range of patients.
Other: I have chosen this course because to save a man's life which is the best job that a person would want to do throughout his life. The college should conduct more fests, extracurricular activities, more accessibility and should provide freedom in our course. Very few events are organised like a freshers party and each year sports meet. The campus crowd is well-educated, and they all come from a good family. Scholarships are offered to the students who scored an aggregate of greater than 75% marks. Extracurricular activities are conducted here like dance, sports and music.
