December 6, 2024: In a historic achievement, Satyam Roychowdhury, Founder and Managing Director of Techno India Group and Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, has been conferred the prestigious title of Honorary Academician of 2024 by the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts of Turin, Italy. This accolade marks Roychowdhury as the first Indian to be recognized by one of Italy's premier state institutions under the Ministry of University and Research (MIUR).

Sister Nivedita University Documentary "STEP" Shines at Green Frames Vatavaran Short Film Competition 2023

June 4, 2024:  The documentary film "STEP," created by postgraduate students from Sister Nivedita University's Journalism and Mass Communication Department, won first place in the School & College Students category of the prestigious Green Frames Vatavaran Short Film Competition 2023. CMS Vatavaran and the US Consulate General Mumbai organized this prestigious event in Bhopal, in partnership with the National Museum of Natural History in New Delhi.  A remarkable team of students developed the award-winning documentary, including Sohini Mukherjee, Parnita Kundu, Soumya Nayak, Rittika Dey Sarkar, Atish Das, Anoushka Ganguly, and Tanmoy Dey. These students, all from Sister Nivedita University's PG4 cohort, displayed exceptional creativity and effort in creating a film that enthralled audiences while also conveying a powerful environmental message.

September 22, 2023: Sister Nivedita University (SNU), directed by Acharya Satyam Roychowdhury, has made an important step towards internationalisation by forming a potential cooperation with Spain's prominent University of Valladolid. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Acharya Satyam Roychowdhury and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on a visit to Spain, symbolising a commitment to academic and cultural exchange. The participation of cricket star Sourav Ganguly and politician Kunal Ghosh at the MoU signing ceremony underscored the significance of this relationship. "We will strive to facilitate future proximity between students and teachers from both universities," said Acharya Satyam Roychowdhury of the cooperation. Cultural interchange will flourish, and we shall work together to achieve research excellence."

The Rabindra Bhavan at the University of Valladolid houses an amazing collection of 20,000 volumes linked to Rabindranath Tagore, making it the largest such collection outside of India. Acharya Satyam Roychowdhury lauded this, highlighting the thriving Rabindranath studies carried out in Spain. Vice-Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University (SNU) Participates in Fifth Globalised Education Forum

January 18, 2023: The fifth Globalized Education Forum 2022–23 of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) was held on Saturday at a city hotel. The discussions ranged from India becoming a hub for global education to globalisation in the new normal world, the significance of the host country in globalisation programmes, and how the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) has introduced regulations for the internationalisation of higher education in India. Vice-Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University (SNU), Prof. (Dr) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, recalled how many individuals conflate internationalisation and westernisation of education. According to him, today's educational system requires internationalisation of education, which is not a just western idea.

Satyam Roychowdhury, chairperson of the ICC National Expert Committee on Higher Education & Training and chancellor of SNU, Kolkata, commented on education in the post-pandemic world and emphasised the need of internationalisation of education in today's globalised society. It is a process by which information is created in one nation and distributed to the rest of the world in a variety of ways. According to him, the internationalisation of education fosters cross-cultural dialogue and aids in the internationalisation of curricula, methodologies, and results. Dr Subhas Sarkar, the minister of state for education, said that due to the country's popularity as a study destination for students from the SAARC, Central Asia, and Africa, India has emerged as a major player in the world of education.

By aiding international destinations and providing top-notch education at a reasonable price, he declared, "Our objective is to make India a superpower in the educational industry." The minister emphasised that NEP will draw a sizable number of students from abroad.

Techno India Group Launches A 100-Bed Temporary Covid Treatment Hospital

May 31, 2021: Under the leadership of Visionary Satyam Roychowdhury, the Techno India Group opened a 100-bed temporary Covid treatment hospital at Royal Park Stadium in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas. Nehru Memorial Techno Global Hospital, a Satyam Roychowdhury venture under the Techno India Group's auspices, was built in response to a state government requirement. It contains 35 beds and is up and running. On May 31, another 35 beds will be added. On June 7, about 30 extra beds will be added.

Nursing care, monitoring, medicine, blood tests, x-rays, and oxygen will all be available. According to Dr. Sanku Bose, Group CEO of Techno India Group, a Covid Severity Score (CSS) software system will be introduced for the first time in Eastern India, through which patient parameters will be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assess the severity of the disease and scale the treatment plan/ICU admission.

February 25, 2020: Sister Nivedita University Samman, a tradition that honours most important personalities from diverse backgrounds and their outstanding achievement, was organised to mark the Management Day celebration. University invited prominent dignitaries such as IAS officer and Managing Director, HIDCO Debasish Sen Founder and Chairman, Bandhan Bank A C Chakraborti, Dr Subir Chatterjee and Chandra Sekhar Ghosh to felicitate them for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields.

Also, the University organised a discussion on ‘Winning in the Digital Age’. The speaker panel included dignitaries from various backgrounds such as VP and GM—Eastern Region, TCS Suresh Menon, Professor Indranil Bose from Institute of Management, Calcutta, Professor Saikat Maitra, MAKAUT, President, Business Development Preeyam Budhia from Patton Group and Director SNU Santanu Ray. In this session, the audience, especially the students who appreciated this rich experience, were introduced new ideas for success in this digital era

University Inaugurates School of International Languages

February 22, 2020: On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Sister Nivedita University inaugurated the School of International Languages. The school has been started considering the globalisation and evolution of trade across international borders. This has increased the demand of professionals who can fluently speak other foreign languages. The courses offered will be Japnese, Chinese, French, Spanish, German and Esperanto.

Students who have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in any discipline and from any recognised board are eligible to apply. The duration of the course will be 100 hours that will have to be covered within six months. The total cost of the programme will be Rs 7,500, inclusive of application fee.

A Discussion on Sustainable Development with Sugata Hazra

January 16, 2020: University invited Director of School of Oceanographic Studies, Kolkata, Sugata Hazra and Director of Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, University of East Anglia, Robert Nicholls to facilitate a discussion on sustainable development and its importance in future. Students across all the disciplines actively participated in the session. Climate change has been a significant issue in a democratic country such as India and how the media should lead to make it a significant goal to inspire people to work for sustainable development to benefit every individual and human community in general.

The goals such as zero hunger, no poverty, good health and well being, quality education, clean environment and healthy work culture can only be achieved if the youth of the country unites and work towards it.

Small ragging free campus with loads of seminars.

Placements: The highest salary package offered was INR 51 LPA, and the average package was INR 6.50 LPA. Over 70% of students were placed. The university provides law firms and advocates to guide students who are practising law. In addition, 90% of students get internships, and the college offers weekly seminars that help students gain knowledge and participate in interactive sessions.

Placements: There are chances to get placed. At least 95% of all students are placed. One batch is passed out but they are now getting internships in many hospitals like Woodland, BP Poddar, etc. Our course offers critical care technologies in ICU, emergency ward and other wards if needed .
