SRM is best private university for higher studies in South India.
Placements: My experience here is overall good, placement cell is very active here and placements are nice. Placement cell helps final year students in many ways, they help preparing for interview and provide good mentorship. Packages are average, best offered to top students rest will get average package ranging from 6 LPA to 9 LPA based on their hardwork and skills.
Infrastructure: Campus is attraction of this institute. College campus is filled with greenery and there is Wi-Fi in whole campus. SRM has a cultural fest called Milan and other' technical fest too. Many events and shows were organised throughout academic year. I have stayed in girls hostel for two years and it is good with gym and tennis and basketball court. Mess food is dissatisfying sometimes.
Faculty: The faculty of SRM institute that comes from different state environment in institute is very diverse. All faculty members are Ph.D. and supportive in our learning, one has to make some good connection with faculty members. Curriculum is mostly updated and good. Management of exam and results are also satisfying.
Other: Campus is crowded and it's another attraction of this institute. Many health and wellness programs are organised here.

Good infrastructure and very good placements, but placements are only for those who perform well.
Placements: About 800 people are studying my course. The highest salary package is 39 LPA and the lowest salary package is 4.5 LPA. Top companies like Google, Accenture, Amazon, PayPal, and Microsoft recruit from our course. Around 80% of students will get internships. Embedded, software, and hardware roles are very good in my course. Top companies offer higher salary packages, but they hire only a few members.
Infrastructure: Labs are very good, with high-quality equipment and good infrastructure, but the network is slow. Hostels are good, but not worth the money. They charged 2.5 Lakhs for my ECE course in the first year, and now they are charging 3.5 Lakhs for first-year students. College fees are very high at this university.
Faculty: Teaching is very good. They help me with doubts, IEEE research papers, and more. It will help in the industry. It is easy to pass, with 3 CTs (internals) worth 60 marks and the semester exam worth 40 marks. The pass percentage is 50%. Teaching staff is very good, and management handles all other issues effectively.
Other: The course is very helpful in building my career. It will have 5 units to study. For every even semester, there is Aarush, and for every odd semester, there is Melon, which are the fests of the college.

Only join this college if it is your last resort.
Placements: You do have companies visiting the campus for placements but they barely hire 2-3 students from a pool of over 4000 applicants. We had companies like PayPal, Dell, Barclays, jp Morgan, Philips and Siemens that came to recruit interns but they barely hired 5 interns out of which 50% were girls. It’s almost impossible to get past the initial resume screening, most people are rejected even before they write a test. So unless your resume is truly exceptional, getting an internship is close to impossible.
Infrastructure: The only decent thing about SRM is only the main campus (not sure about the other campuses). Classes in the University building are air conditioned but it is the only building with air conditioning as of now. The library is really good. with plenty of places to sit along with a vast variety of books. Only issue is that you might not always find a place to sit that has a plug point, in case you want to use your laptop. The Wi-Fi is available within the university and in the tech park buildings. The WiFi is fairly fast and gets the job done but a lot of sites are blocked. Apart from the Wi-Fi, you also have a Jionet@srm hotspot at multiple places across the campus that grants you 1.5GB of data per day. This is available to anyone who walks into the campus. You need an SRM net id and password that is required to sign into the Wi-Fi. The computer labs and mechanical labs are pretty good as well. The labs in the UB building have an intel i7's and 32gb of RAM. Tech park has an iMac lab that is accessible only to some people pursuing an iOS related course. Facilities for non-computer Science related fields are also pretty good. I have seen CNC machines and a lot of other heavy equipments being used in the mechanical section. We have a fabulous lab that offers 3D printing and other services for a small payment. I haven't personally used this but I have heard its fairly reliable.
Faculty: This is the worse part about being in SRM. There are very few faculty members that actually know what they are talking about. They walk into class with PowerPoints and just start talking. If that was the only issue, it wouldn't be a big deal because you can pretty much keep your head down and scroll through your phones to pass time, but no. These people are out there to make your life as miserable as possible. They'll do everything in their power to make you beg for things like marks and attendance to inflate their very fragile egos. Most faculty members in this college have no notable achievements. There is a reason why they're working in SRM and not IITs. Most of the professors graduated from SRM, got their Ph.D. from SRM and continued teaching in SRM. This leads to a sense of worthlessness within them that they like to compensate by making the lives of students miserable. Doing this gives their otherwise mediocre and pointless life some sort of purpose.
Other: I chose Computer Science because that's what everyone said I could make the most money in. As for college, I applied to a bunch of colleges and SRM was the only one I got in. It was my last resort. Still one of my the biggest regret.

Good college, with ample opportunities to enrich skills. Placements are good.
Placements: Around 85% of students got placed from SRMIST. I got to know from seniors and college faculty members, that the average salary package offered is 8 LPA. There are both product-based companies and mass recruiters at our college, offering many opportunities. Placements depend on how well you develop your skills. The highest salary package offered is 50 LPA. There are internship opportunities if you join a club. Last year, Microsoft visited campus and around 2 students got their chance.
Infrastructure: SRM has good infrastructure with classrooms (air-conditioners rarely felt) and a two-floor library. Wi-Fi is available in college. Hostels are safe with strict security and no ragging. The hostel food is good with a daily new menu. There is a pool and two large grounds.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly, knowledgeable (mostly PhDs), and teach well. The course curriculum is relevant, with boot camps and club courses available. Marks are split into 60% internal (exams, assignments) and 40% external (semester exams, 75 marks) both are of easy to medium level.
Other: I chose this course due to the AI boom, which is creating numerous job opportunities in the IT sector. The best part is the high demand for skilled professionals. However, I feel the curriculum could improve by removing biology and chemistry, which are taught only in first two semesters. SRM hosts Aarush a renowned teach fest and offers various clubs across different domains. Campus has a diverse crowd and SRM provides multiple scholarships.

Life of a girl in SRMIST.
Placements: My course is B.Tech CSE with a specialization in Data Analysis. There are around 200 students in my course. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA, and there is no information regarding the lowest salary package. However, our course is great if one is opting for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great. Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. Buildings are very well-maintained and built in such a way that looks real. However, the same can't be said for all hostels, some are well-maintained while others are neglected.
Faculty: Faculty members are average, especially South Indian ones, whose English heavy accent makes English difficult to understand. They are not cooperative. However, not all faculty members are same. The course curriculum is very good and nicely planned and executed.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in Data Science, and as far as the student clubs are concerned they are very active around campus.

The worst college for subjects and placements. I don't recommend you to join this college.
Placements: A very few students were placed in my course due to lack of knowledge regarding the subjects, this is all because of the faculty. We have raised complaints against them but the management doesn't care about it. If any one is interested to join this college only for placements, it’s better to choose another course in this college because this course is not the correct one to choose for getting placed. Some companies used to come here to hire us but that was a waste of time as they conducted interviews just for formality, and some rounds later, they just hire a few students. The highest and the lowest packages shown in the advertisements were not from my course.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average but the fee we are paying is higher. Facilities like Wi-Fi is available but it won't work properly, labs have systems but AC doesn't work properly. There is always some maintenance work going on. Library is often cool compared to the remaining infrastructure. Classrooms are not well maintained. Hostel is good but the security was very strict, at times they conduct checking in the rooms disturbing the privacy.
Faculty: The worst thing I have faced here is regarding the faculty as they lack knowledge and are only useful for school students. They need to up skill their subject knowledge for teaching us. If anyone is expecting a good faculty here, I highly recommend you to choose another college. Exams are difficult to pass in the initial stage, later on, the college will pass you by taking money. Only 40 to 60 percent students will clear all the subjects in a single sitting.
Other: It’s a boring college having no entertainment or fun activity. There are no culture activities either. It is a waste of money and time to join this college. From the first year till now, I just learned only ‘hello world programme’, that's it.
