In his address, Padma Shri Prof. K VijayaRaghavan drew attention to some of the post-Covid world's challenges and hoped that the students graduating would be a part of the mainstream agenda to mitigate climate change's effects, especially as India strives to make environmental sustainability central to its development policy.

Prof VijayRaghavan stressed that while frugal high-quality innovation is beneficial now, it takes a toll on future generations, and students need to use technology and knowledge that empowers future generations to keep sustainability alive while briefly outlining how the planet is progressing post-pandemic, coupled with unbridled big city growth and increasingly devastating climate events.

Prateek Sharma, PhD Vice-Chancellor, TERI SAS, discussed the institute's heritage and how it is everyone's obligation, including the outgoing students, to add new feathers to the institute's cap.
