UOW is Launching a New Course (Master of Computing (Data Analytics) in November 2024 this cutting-edge course bridges computing and data analytics expertise

October 10, 2024: This 1.5-year full-time programme provides flexibility for people who work full-time by providing part-time study at their own pace. Full-time employees can choose to finish one to two subjects per session, ensuring a balanced approach to education and career progress. Credit for Prior Learning: Bachelor's degree holders in Computer Science can apply for credit, earning 24 credit points (4 subject equivalents). Completing the Graduate Certificate in Computing allows you to pursue the Master of Computing (Data Analytics) in one year, full-time or part-time equivalent.

Subjects: To finish this programme, you must earn 72 credit points in subjects such as Programming and Data Structures, Data Management Systems, Web Development, Security Essentials, and more. You can also personalise your learning experience by selecting electives like as Security, Ethics and Professionalism, or Information, Design, and Content Management. 

The total course fee for this degree is $27,900*(2024).

UOW India signs a partnership with IBM

September 18, 2024: The University of Wollongong India (UOW India) and IBM have signed a partnership agreement to enhance the educational experience and career readiness of students.

IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE), offers cutting-edge courses in key technology areas that equip students with in-demand IT skills and expertise required to succeed in the industry.

Nimay Kalyani, UOW India Campus Director said, “The partnership with IBM is a game-changer initiative.”

Mr Kalyani said, “We are delighted to partner with IBM to provide a rich experience to students.”

Qualified students will have access to internships, placements, and career opportunities with various leading organisations across MNCs, Global System Integrators, and Domain sectors – Banks/Telecom/Insurance/ Healthcare/Fin-tech/e-commerce/Insurance, etc. across the globe.

Professor Mai El Barachi, Head of School at UOW Dubai, said the partnership will enrich UOW India’s academic offerings and strengthen our students’ competitiveness in the global job market. The collaboration will focus on training in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, big data and business analytics, etc.”

IBM India/South Asia Director, Vithal Madyalkar said, “There is a strong demand, across the industry, for IT professionals to be deeply skilled in in-demand technologies. Through this collaboration, we can positively impact the outcomes of our students.”

IBM Innovation Centre for Education, IBM India/South Asia Leader – Business Relationship, Hari Ramasubramanian said, “UOW will be delivering deep-rich technology integrated curriculum in the classroom. IBM will be systematically enabling the faculty team on these courses, through teach-the-teacher workshops, webinars, industry guest lectures, and student interactions with subject matter experts from the industry. The students will have access to an online platform, to access courseware, projects, guest lectures, competitions, and discussion forums to enhance their knowledge and skills in real time.

This initiative from IBM has been helping skill the student community with niche technology skills across many countries, over the last 13+ years. On successful completion of the program, the students will be awarded an electronic badge from IBM.
