Coronavirus outbreak: Gujarat government to promote class 1 to 9 and 11 without exams

The Gujarat government declared to promote all students from class 1 to class 9 and class 11 students to the next class without examinations.

Gujarat government had shut down all the academic institutions, colleges, universities, and other academic institutions due to the COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak. As a precautionary against the rapidly spreading disease, the government had also suspended the ongoing examinations. Now, the state government declared to promote all students from class 1 to class 9 and class 11 students to the next class without examinations.

The decision of promoting students up to class 11 (except class 10 and class 12) to the next class without any examination is taken to avoid the risk of spreading the COVID-19. According to a reputed source, the Gujarat education minister stated that all annual examinations from class 1 to class 11 (except class 10 and class 12) are canceled. All the students belonging to these classes will be promoted to the next class without examination. The promotion of the students to the next class will take place on the basis of their performance throughout the year.

Meanwhile, state boards such as The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP), Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE), Punjab State Education Board (PSEB), Kerala State Board, and Telangana State Secondary School Certificate (TS SSC Board) postponed the class 10 and class 12 examinations due to the pandemic outbreak.

The novel coronavirus that struck the world in December 2019 is continuously spreading all across the globe. According to the latest updates, total novel coronavirus positive cases in India are more than 500.
