Universities based in Delhi such as Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSIT), Indraprastha University, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Ambedkar University and others are planning to conduct online exams amid COVID-19 lockdown.

Universities based in Delhi such as Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-D), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSIT), Indraprastha University, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Ambedkar University and others are planning to conduct online exams amid COVID-19 lockdown. According to the reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia conducted a meeting on May 1, 2020, with the vice-chancellors of the universities under the Delhi government through video-conferencing. The meeting was held to discuss the conducting of academic activities amid the prevailing crisis. The CM also asked the VCs about the admission status of the upcoming session and the effect of the novel coronavirus on the placements.

The sources suggest that video conference was attended by the Directors and Vice-chancellors of the premier technology institutes such as National Law University, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, IIIT Delhi, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Ambedkar University, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi Technological University.

During the video conference, the VCs suggested informed that they have started making arrangements to conduct the online examination as per UGC Guidelines 2020. The Universities are planning to conduct exams for the final year first as they will be needing degrees for placements. The majority of Universities agreed on holding final year exams online.

The Delhi CM also talked about conducting the admission process online. Mr. Kejriwal advised universities to incorporate technology proactively in their academic activities. The minister also directed the universities to plan the academic sessions and running of the universities following all the precautionary advisory suggested by the Health Ministry.
