The last date to send your ideas to 'Hack a Cause' is April 2, 2020. 

Ministry of Electronics and IT invites creative minds to participate in ‘Hack a Cause’ asks them to contribute their ideas to ‘Hack the crisis in India’. Amid the global pandemic outbreak, while the world is discussing the problems the novel coronavirus is creating for human society, Hack a Cause is asking young talents to come up with creative solutions and win exciting rewards and exposure.

In their latest tweets, the Ministry of Electronics and IT stated that if s/he has ideas that will slingshot India to success during the aftermath of the pandemic, the individual is fit for the competition.

Hack the crisis in India 2020: Participation Rules

While the minimum number of the participants in the team is one, the maximum number of the team members is ten. The team must have a good WiFi connection. The competition is on for only Indian national and it has no age limit.

Each team should ideally consist of:

  • Idea owner who will take the role of the team lead (coordinating, project management)
  • 2 developers
  • 2 designers (UX/UI)
  • An engineer, if an idea execution requires it (optional)

Hack a Cause 2020: How to register

Step 1: Visit the official website i.e. http://hackacause.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘Apply Now’

Step 3: The link will redirect you to a new page with a start button

Step 4: Click on ‘start’

Step 5: Enter the email address of the team lead

Step 6: Follow the necessary instruction and register your idea

Hack a Cause 2020: Rewards

The best teams will enter the global Hack the Crisis hackathon, which will gather the best teams from similar competitions all around the world! The site is still being edited, but you can check the progress of different local initiatives at ‘garage48.org/hackthecrisis’. The best 3 teams will get the monetary prize to support the development of the idea after the hackathon. Top 10 teams will enter the Global Hackathon, which will take place in April and receive follow-up support from Garage48 on how to go on with their idea.

During the 21 days nationwide lockdown, what’s better than a competition that can actually solve our country’s problems? Utilise the lockdown by participating in ‘Hack a Cause’ and unleash your creative parameters. The last date to upload your ideas is April 2, 2020.
