JEE Advanced 2025: IIT Kanpur Releases Notice for Students Who Quit College in Nov 2024
IIT Kanpur has revised the JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure to include a checklist of the required documents for candidates who first appeared for the Class 12 board exams in 2023 and later dropped out between November 5 and 18, following the three-attempt notice issued by JAB.
On January 10, the Supreme Court directed the Joint Admission Board (JAB) to allow students who withdrew from their college courses between November 5 and November 18, 2024, to register for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. This opportunity is available to students who initially appeared for the Class 12 board exams in 2023 and subsequently dropped out within the specified period.
For such candidates, IIT Kanpur has updated the JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure with the checklist of the necessary documents. IIT Kanpur has notified that these candidates are permitted to register for JEE Advanced 2025, subject to satisfying all other applicable eligibility criteria outlined in the updated JEE Advanced Information Brochure. The updated information brochure is available at jeeadv.ac.in.
IIT Kanpur has notified that: "Consequent to the recent order of the Honβble Supreme Court of India (pertaining to Writ Petition (Civil) Nos. 854/2024 and 17/2025) dated 10.01.2025, students who appeared in their class 12 examination for the first time in 2023 AND have withdrawn from their courses and dropped out between 05.11.2024 to 18.11.2024 would be permitted to register for JEE (Advanced) 2025, subject to satisfying ALL other applicable eligibility criteria as outlined in Clause 11 of JEE Advanced 2025 Information Brochure."
JEE Advanced 2025: List of Documents needed by candidates who dropped out between November 5 and November 18, 2024
- A letter duly stamped and signed, from the Head of their Institution (Dean/Principal/Director), as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure.
- An affidavit duly stamped and attested by a notary public, on a nonjudicial stamp paper of INR 10 as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2025 information brochure. The affidavit should be of the candidate if she/he is more than 18 years of age. If the candidate is less than 18 years of age, the affidavit should be given by her/his parent or legal guardian.
- Withdrawal letter/notification issued to the candidate from her/his college/university/institute.
IIT Kanpur has also warned that - if at any stage it is found that any information or documents provided in the submitted documents are incorrect or forged, the candidature of the candidate will be immediately cancelled and appropriate legal actions may be initiated against the candidate.

No. A watch timer of 3 hours will be available on the computer screen of all the candidates to monitor thir exam timing. A candidate cannot carry or wear a atch inside the exam hall. Also, candidates cannot carry mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands or any other electronic gadgets, any printed/blank/hand written paper, log tables, writing pads, scales, eraser, geometry/pencil-boxes, pouches, calculators, pen drives, electronic pens/Scanner, wallets, handbags, camera, goggles or similar such items.

JEE Advanced 2025 will be held in 222 cities in India and 2 foreign centres.
