According to the official statement, the promotion of the students to the next class will take place on the basis of their performance throughout the year.
Uttar Pradesh government had shut down all the academic institutions, colleges, universities, and other academic institutions due to the COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak. As a precautionary against the rapidly spreading disease, the government had also suspended the ongoing examinations. Now, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided all the students up to class 8 would be promoted to the next class without examinations.
The decision of promoting students up to class 8 to the next class without any examination has been taken to avoid the risk of spreading the COVID-19. The UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who holds the education portfolio, stated the government took the decision in view of the closure of schools. According to the official statement, the promotion of the students to the next class will take place on the basis of their performance throughout the year.
The state government has also postponed the mark sheet evaluation of the UP Board class 10 and class 12 examinations till April 2. The decision took place when a group of teachers stayed away from the evaluation centres due to the coronavirus scare.
The postponement in the process of answer sheet evaluation will also lead to the delay in the announcement of the UP Board high school and intermediate examination results.
