Delhi University launches ‘One DU’: The University of Delhi launched its flagship programme ‘One DU’. Under this unique initiative, the university integrated all the e-learning resources offered by DU on a single platform. One DU platform is designed to promote online education across teaching departments, colleges, centres, and other affiliated bodies. The university released an official notification confirming the launch of the ‘One DU’ programme and also highlighted its importance, aims and objectives that it will cater to, especially during the ongoing pandemic situation.
“The University has decided to augment and streamline online education by facilitating e-learning support through the Delhi University Computer Centre (DUCC) by creating and integrating online platform and networking resources and facilities for use by all the university departments, centres, colleges, and other affiliated bodies under ‘OneDU’ – online eDUcation flagship programmes,” the official notice read.
“Online teaching and learning has become an integral part of education worldwide owing to the unprecedented pandemic situation. The University of Delhi also adopted online teaching and learning in the last semester, whereby students were taught through various online platforms,” it added. Now under OneDU, all these efforts will be integrated.
According to the statement issued by the University administration, the One DU programme is envisioned by the varsity as an initiative that will cater to the e-learning needs of the students, especially in the current circumstances. Through this programme, the University will Generate and Disseminate e-Resources, as and when required. With the help of Delhi University Computer Centre (DUCC), the varsity plans to augment and streamline online education by providing the necessary resources to across teaching departments, colleges, centres, and other affiliated bodies.
