Any delay in admission will not be in the interest of the creative students who are eagerly waiting to be part of the premier college under DU, they said.

DU Admissions 2021: The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) has urged the varsity administration to initiate urgently the process of admissions for final-year UG and PG students of the College of Arts. They said that any delay in admission will not be in the interest of the creative students who are eagerly waiting to be part of the premier college under DU. The DU Admission 2021 for them should be started as per the admission policy laid down by the Academic Council without any further delay, they said.

Earlier, Academic Council and Executive Council Members had strongly protested against the state cabinet decision to merge Delhi College of Arts with the B R Ambedkar University.

"We strongly oppose the decision of the State Cabinet to merge Delhi College of Arts with the B R Ambedkar University. Such attempt at de-affiliation of DU colleges leading to the dismemberment of the University of Delhi is in contravention to the Acts, Statutes, and Ordinances of DU, which must be stopped at all levels. We urge you to take immediate and  necessary steps to halt this unwarranted process," they said.

They added that "We are firm of the opinion that this is a unilateral attack on the hundred years old university disregarding the statutory provisions of DU. This is a part of larger design to disintegrate Delhi university into pieces. Delhi University is an integral whole and no unit will be allowed to be taken away from DU as this will adversely affect the high-quality academic environment achieved by the collective efforts of all the units. We demand that Delhi university administration should not repeat its slack approach on this issue as was shown in case of NSIT and nip this destructive design in the bud."
