Overview
The Gokhale hostel is located in the vicinity of the University Maharaja College campus and was established about 70 years ago. Undergraduates admitted to the Maharaja College on a fulltime basis are given access to the residential facility. The best amenities are offered here to provide luxuries that serve as the foundation for a full immersion in the college’s spirit and the ideal setting for the fruitful pursuit of both academic and extracurricular activities.

Eligibility: only 1st year students are eligible to acquire the hostel facilities.
Due to the limited number of available rooms, only those students who are admitted to the college in the first phase of their respective undergraduate programmes on the basis of merit, determined by the marks received in their respective 12th board examinations, are eligible for new admissions in the hostel. Only those students whose parents are bona fide residents of the periphery of Jaipur Municipal Corporation are eligible for admission to the hostel. Admission forms for the hostel are supposed to be filled online (available on the official website of the University of Rajasthan) and a hard copy of the same is to be signed by the HOD/Principal and submitted at the Head Wardens Office of the respective colleges. If a student fails or is returned/due in the main examination or fails to appear for the examination, even in compulsory subjects, she will be ineligible for readmission to the hostel the following year.
Hostel fees: After being shortlisted, students have to submit an annual fee of INR 10,000 and a monthly fee of INR 1280 for mess facilities. It is noteworthy that the annual fee might differ according to the percentage obtained by the student in the previous academic year.

Facilities
Accommodation: There are 115 rooms in the hostel, which houses 220 students. Amongst these are 70 single-seated rooms and 45 double-seated rooms in total. Every room in the hostel’s double-storey building has a ceiling fan, a wardrobe, a table, a chair, and a cot for each student. Along with these amenities, the hostel also has a guest room, five storerooms, a warden’s office, an administrative office, and a garden on the outside of the building. The residences of the warden, associate warden, and assistant warden are situated close to the hostel’s grounds in order to give the residents of the hostel a comfortable and familial atmosphere.
Hostel Mess and Dining Facilities: The hostel mess is run on a cooperative basis, and the warden forms a hostel mess committee each year from among the hostel residents for this reason. The hostel mess's typical meal times are as follows:
Lunch -11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Dinner -8:00 PM to 9:00 PM (summers)
7:30 PM to 8:30 PM (winters)
Reading Room: The hostel has a reading room for newspapers and magazines.
Sports and Entertainment: The hostel’s inmates have access to a well-equipped common area with a television. Additionally, the hostel has volleyball courts inside its walls. The college playground, which features a basketball court, lawn tennis court, football field, and cricket field, is not far from the hostel.
Medical facilities: The university health centre, which is on the campus of the University of Rajasthan, offers medical services to hostel residents as needed. In case of a medical emergency, the largest government hospital in the state, SMS Hospital, is close to the hostel.
Hostel office: The hostel warden, who is on duty in the hostel office from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every working day, is assisted by the hostel office assistant as she maintains the accounts and handles other administrative tasks.
Events : The Youth Festival, also known as "Basant", is an inter- hostel annual fest, where students from different hostels of the University of Rajasthan and its constituent colleges compete in literary, fine arts and performing arts competitions. Other workshops for the overall development of the hostellers are also organised from time to time.
Transportation: The hostels are well-secured with good transportation facilities available just outside the main gate to head anywhere in the city.
