HRD Minister held another review meeting with AICTE, UGC, CBSE, NTA and School Education and Literacy Department.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank held another review meeting with secretaries of School Education and Literacy Department, Higher Education Department, and Chairperson of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The meeting was conducted to discuss various issues related to education amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Union HRD Minister said.

This is the second review meeting conducted by HRD Minister with the country's top-notch education leaders and held amidst growing tension over the further postponement of the remaining CBSE Board Exams 2020 as well as medical and engineering entrance exams - NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020.

NEET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on July 26 and JEE Main 2020 from July 18 to July 23. With the rising number of coronavirus cases, parents are anxious about the gathering of students in large numbers and the safety of the students.

However, the minister said that the HRD ministry is committed to students' health and quality education.

CBSE is scheduled to conduct the remaining CBSE 10th exam and CBSE 12th exam from July 1. Recently, parents have started an online campaign #CancelBoardExam on social media, demanding that CBSE and other board exams be cancelled.
