IIT Madras has introduced this course with an objective to prepare a student to take a variety of focused, advanced courses in various subfields of Programming.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is all set to offer free online courses in Data Science considering its growth and usage in the industry. According to the information released by IIT Madras, under this programme, students will be introduced to a variety of concepts in the field of Data Science. The course introduces R as a programming language; the mathematical foundations required for data science; the first level data science algorithms and a data analytics problem-solving framework. It also introduces a practical capstone case study. IIT Madras has introduced this course with an objective to prepare a student to take a variety of focused, advanced courses in various subfields of Programming. The course also designed to develop a basic understanding of problem-solving, knowledge representation, reasoning and learning methods of Data Science.
Applicants interested in IIT Madras Admissions 2021 are advised to go through the eligibility before applying for the course. This is an undergraduate computer science level course but anyone with the desire to expand the horizon of their knowledge can enroll in the course. Moreover, this course is a must-take for people in the Robotics Industry, Neuroscientists, Psychologists, Research scholars in the field of AI.
The elective free online course in Data Science provided by IIT Madras is of 8-week duration. The course will commence on July 26, 2021, and end on September 17, 2021. Candidates willing to take a certificate have to appear for a proctored exam on September 26, 2021. This printable certificate will carry the stamp from both NPTEL and IIT Madras. The last date to enroll is August 2, 2021. The course is free of cost but to appear for the exam candidates have to deposit a requisite fee amount of Rs 1000. Also, the successful completion of the exam does not guarantee a certificate. To get a certificate, the candidate must secure 25% from the assignments and 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100.
Final score = Average assignment score (>10/25) + Exam score (>30/75). Further, if one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will still not get the certificate even if the Final score > 40/100.
