Shaastra Juniors, an online three-day technical festival, will include lectures, events, shows, workshops and competitions.
The students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras are conducting the second edition of Shaastra Juniors, an online three-day technical festival for school students.
Shaastra Juniors will include lectures, events, shows and workshops from September 24 to 26. Competitions will be held from October 1 to 3. Best school students will not only win prize money but they will also get special trophies apart from goodies. The teams will compete for the Shaastra Juniors’ championship.
“Shaastra Juniors will be conducted online so that students can participate from the comfort of their homes. It is scheduled to happen during September 24-26 with a wide range of workshops and October1-3 with interesting competitions, enthralling shows and inspiring lectures,” a press release said.
Candidates can register for free and check out the schedule at juniors.shaastra.org. Shaastra is the completely student-run annual technical festival in India which is conducted by IIT Madras. It is the first such technical festival in India to hold a 9001:2015 ISO certificate in implementing a quality management system.
Last year, the event was conducted jointly by IIT Madras and the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre on October 24 and 25. The event included contests such as Spark, Shaastra Art Challenge, Junior Make-a-thon, Shaastra junior chess tournament and Ignite. The best performing schools and students were given awards, cash prizes worth Rs 60,000, certificates and medals.
