A: DES’s JSKBS always insists on the introduction of innovative teaching pedagogy into the classroom. Even though some methods are emulated by other educators previously however we feel that our institution looks to make up for learning loss due to the pandemic & we are confident that our innovative strategies create a growth mindset for management students.

Following are some teaching-learning strategies followed by us:
- We identify room for improvement in students first. We invest our time in researching & thinking of better strategies to teach our students.
- We use our Indian culture of innovation & creativity which energizes our students to do the same in the best possible manner.
- We always focused on students’ active engagement in the learning process which reduces students’ absentee in the classroom and more likely to triumph academically.
- Our personalized learning methods such as Group Project, Debates & Practice provides a rich learning experience to students.
- Instead of the traditional lecture-style of format, Professor in JSKBS presents questions, scenarios & problems. Students are able to further develop their answer or solution to that stimulation or problem after identifying areas where they need to pay more attention.
Q: How are you preparing your students to be industry-ready?
A: Active learning method through perfect blend Theory, Practical & Industrial Visit encourages students to discuss, contribute, participate, investigate & create the best possible solution to industrial issues. This critical thinking inspires them to find out new ways of integrating productivity into the work of Industries, companies & institutions.
Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?
A: We expect a student with a sense of respect for the country’s goal over their personal one. The pursuit of relevant knowledge is a necessary quality for JSKBS student. The acquisition of knowledge sharpens the mind & helps him/her to seamlessly flow in his/her studies. Students have to take responsibility to develop their character, especially after graduation.
Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?
A: Lifestyle is changing constantly. Days dissolve quickly. There is little time left to focus on personal & professional development. Staying up to date in the industry is a need of time. Following are some ways to ensure us for keeping our curriculum ready for industry requirements such as Networking, Connection to a professional group to understand current industry trends, headways of technology, real-time information about the latest changes in Industry, Industry meetups (Industry Talks), and Subscriptions to industry/trade magazines, newsletters, Refresher course, and Webinars.
