Getting into MAIMS:
I appeared for CLAT in the year 2020 and secured a rank of around 16,000. IPU has 85 percent of seats reserved for Delhi students. This helped me to secure admission to the 3rd best college of IPU, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies. However, admission and classes for BA.LLB were delayed that year due to COVID.
Freshers’ Party Experience at MAIMS:
After a few months, we had freshers' celebrations. Both unofficial and official freshers' events were organized. The unofficial fresher’s party was organized by our seniors. It had a Western dress code. The official fresher's party, organized by the college, had a minimal fee and an ethnic dress code. I attended both events and had a good experience. I made friends, enjoyed the food, danced, and got to know my classmates better.
Life at MAIMS campus:
When offline classes began, I visited the college campus for the first time. I attended 2 out of 4 classes and explored the entire campus, even trying out the Maggi at the Amul canteen. I joined the Moot Court Society and participated in a moot court competition, which offered a great learning experience. I always maintained good attendance, completed my notes, and performed well in exams. Near our college, there are places like Unity One Mall, Avantika Market, and Metro Walk, where I spend my free time with friends watching movies, window shopping, and enjoying different varieties of food, boating, and clicking pictures.
Q: Is Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies good for B.A.?
Is Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) good for B.A.?
Here's what current students and alumni have to say:
* Course curriculum: While some students appreciate the relevance of the curriculum, others find it "basic" and not industry-ready.
* Teaching quality: Faculty members are considered knowledgeable, helpful, and approachable. They're willing to clarify doubts and provide additional guidance.
* Placement scenario: Placements aren't particularly strong, with most companies offering sales jobs with lower salaries. It's recommended to explore external opportunities alongside attending campus drives.
* Campus life: MAIMS provides a good campus experience, with various events, clubs, and societies catering to diverse interests.
* Infrastructure: The college boasts modern classrooms, libraries, and recreational facilities, making it a pleasant learning environment.
* Economics focus: For those interested in economics, MAIMS seems to deliver, with opportunities to engage with the subject through coursework and extracurricular activities.
In summary, while MAIMS may not excel in terms of placement opportunities, its strengths lie in its academic offerings, supportive faculty, and vibrant campus culture. However, it's essential for aspiring students to weigh these factors against their individual priorities and career aspirations before making an informed decision.

* Challenging academics: Students report that the course curriculum is demanding, and the passing percentage for examinations is relatively low.

DLSA and placement:
I also took DLSA (Delhi Legal Service Authority) training. It was a three-day training program. After that, they give our PLV cards (Para Legal Volunteers). I did an internship in court. It was a great opportunity. I made links and those links helped me to get further internships. We would get 1k per day in DLSA. I also got two internship opportunities from the placement cell of my college. One internship was in one of the chambers in Rohini. I learned a lot there. I did draft and research work. I got exposure to court as well there.
I joined NCC in my college. It was also great learning. I learned discipline and unity. I had cleared the B grade certificate exam in NCC and attended one camp in the Safdarjung enclave. Now I have attended one camp for the certificate. Most probably we would get the certificate in March.
Overall, my college experience was great, and I made many friends, participated in various events, and enjoyed my time in college.
