AIMED has fueled my goal of becoming an entrepreneur in Food industry, says Jemimah Chandrodayam
My higher secondary course was chosen with no particular career plan but my undergraduate studies were totally of my interest. I had a little bit of interest in nutrition and diet that drove me to take that specific course. My goal was to become an entrepreneur by starting a business in the food industry. In order to develop my entrepreneurial skills and achieve my goal, I joined AIMED - Aachi Institute of Management and Entrepreneurial Development. I came to know about AIMED Institute through social media.
I appeared for MAT and TANCET exams as it was the first step to secure admission in MBA or PGDM programme in any reputed management institute. I did not choose to undergo any coaching classes, rather I prepared for the exam on my own with the help of previous years question papers and some sample papers. I was counselled by the admission coordinator, who was very helpful in answering all questions and gave a road map for my career. After the entrance exam, I had to undergo a personal interview round with the Dean and the Director of the institute. Based on my merit and TANCET score, I was offered admission to AIMED Institute.
This is the right place to develop skills and knowledge. All the classes are conducted by well-qualified and experienced faculty. I like attending all the classes such as Human Resource Management, Finance, Sales & Marketing and Operation classes. These classes involve teaching students with the help of live examples or real-life case studies which makes learning more fun and easy. Every Saturday we have guest lectures session by industry experts from various walks of life who have succeeded in their career. They share their experience with us in an interactive manner. Apart from regular classes, practical learning is the key focus of the Institute. The faculty members conduct role plays, group discussion, seminar, management games, quiz competition, interview tips, aptitude classes, case study analysis etc. that helps us to improve our overall personality, communication skills, body language and leadership skills. Regular industrial visit helps us to understand how different industries functions.
Currently, I am studying and working part-time in Aachi Group, in Quality & Exports. My future plan is to start a business in the food industry. For that, I need to equip myself with the latest industry practices and skills. I am working hard for that.
