My passion of sketching led me to work towards my goal of pursuing Architecture, says Akshara
I liked sketching since childhood but little did I know of a career in Architecture at that time. Heading towards Class 11 and 12, when I got to know about the career in Architecture, I decided to opt for Computer Science as my core subject in high school. It is the basic eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by the aspiring candidate to become an Architecture. After Class 12 exams, my interest in the construction field and the knowledge that architecture is a creative field made me choose the course BArch course.
The time had come. The course was decided but the college wasn’t. After some research on the Internet and some suggestions from friends and family, I got to know about the popularity of Crescent School of Architecture (B.S.Abdur Rahman University) in this sector. There were positive reviews on the internet and the alumni of the institute were also placed globally in good companies. All these parameters made me choose CSA as the right college to help me achieve my goals.
I got admission in this college on the basis of my Class 12 score and NATA score. I appeared for only NATA entrance exam which is an all India entrance exam for Architecture. I started preparing for the exam soon after Class 12 exams. I joined an institute to prepare well and did not face any challenges particularly in opting for the college.
The five-year curriculum in the college was the most life-changing period of my life where I got to make many friends and beautiful memories, the place where we learned to face challenges, have healthy competition between fellow students, to behave professionally with experienced staffs and seniors, etc. I enjoyed the journey thoroughly especially during the first year while doing basic design creative works, student-driven design fests, competitions, etc. In difficult times, the college and faculty members have given all possible support to students.
Yes, the five-year long college experience had changed me as a person. I have become a more stronger person and I am now able to face challenges, be on time, dress professionally and many more.
I am planning to pursue higher studies after gaining a few years of experience in the field. Then I would like to start my own architecture firm.
