Pandemic made me adaptive to these unwanted situations and made me sit out of my comfort zone, says Sahil

Since I had the privilege to study in an international school I was lucky enough to choose between Science and Commerce in Class 8 itself. From 8th grade, I was driven towards business and always wished to pursue this as my career. As an enthusiastic 13-year-old and a fanatic about sneakers, I had dreamt about opening India’s first sneaker reselling store and worked diligently towards making my dream come true. Studying business management gave me more clarity and deeper knowledge about the subject and connected theory to application-based learning which caught my interest even more as learning was not restricted within textbooks. My parents were also very supportive even though I do not come from a business background and helped me get the best college for pursuing business. After a lot of analysis and research, I came down to BBA that was offered at MET Institute of International Studies with a brilliant affiliation with NCC Education, UK which offers students to study in different countries to achieve exposure in their learning.

Before opting for MET Institute of International Studies I had planned on studying in the United Kingdom wherein I had received offers from multiple universities and was ready to set out to the UK. But since the Covid - 19 pandemic was on a rise in the UK, I decided to stay back and that's when I heard about MET Jain which offered students an opportunity to study abroad in the last two years. The admission process in MET was quite simpler and less complicated, unlike any other college. For admission, I had to submit my previous year's grades and my 10th board grades and additionally had an interview taken by the Director of our institute wherein she asked me certain questions about my academic records, my previous year's education, my interest, my goals, and passion. Overall the admission had no hassles and was a very smooth experience for me and my parents too.

To begin with, I’d like to mention that I would firstly want to visit the campus and experience college life in person and enjoy the experience of studying in a classroom environment. Due to this pandemic and the government restrictions I have already missed a major chunk of my college by studying online and was unable to visit the campus and enjoy campus life. I would want to come to the campus and enjoy college life as every other generation did. I would love to attend all my classes in person and interact with my professors daily. I would especially want to attend marketing classes as our professor brings in extra energy in class which makes it a whole fun class to attend. Since we are attending college online I am unable to be a part of any extracurricular activities but I would love to be a part of the athletics team and also participate in college fests and showcase my talent in dance. The digital world has taught me that unwanted scenarios do not ask for permission before. Similarly, when the pandemic struck and the whole world got digitized people were unprepared and unaware of how to make things work in these situations. To be more precise it made me adaptive to these unwanted situations and made me sit out of my comfort zone. Currently, the future is full of technological advancements and a pile of opportunities that are unexplored to dig in.

My future plan currently is to successfully complete my graduation and MBA and then procure a job experience at an established company and gain experience in the business world of how things work and how does the business world function in reality and then probably start my own venture gaining all the experience I have gathered
