According to the reports, after reviewing the National Curriculum Framework, NCF, NCERT submitted the proposal to the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. This started the biggest exercise in school education reforms.
The proposal submitted earlier this month reveals that the new curriculum would be ready for schools by 2021. This would start the development of the new school textbooks. According to the media, the textbooks will be ready by April 2021 and the new curriculum content will be reduced in each subject to its core essentials.
Formulated after reviewing some government sources, the new curriculum would include the syllabus in accordance with New Education Policy 2020 reforms. The Union Cabinet is expected to receive the NEP by the end of this month.
According to the sources, NCERT already started to shortlist experts for the 22 working groups, which include specialists who could contribute in categories such as gender education, pre-school education, inclusion, educational technology/ ICT, foundational literacy and numeracy, teacher education and assessment in education, among others.

The revision of the National Curriculum Framework is happening after 15 years and its introduction will be in sync with the implementation of the examination reforms such as uniform assessment and evaluation system under the proposed National Assessment Centre as proposed by the NEP 2020.
