Our Corporate Communication Classes are a Stress Buster, Says Mounishree G
I have always been an inquisitive person with an interest in the human mind. I was always fascinated by how people think, how emotions can be influenced, and how different personalities can affect the overall outcome of a situation. This led me to choose science in PUC for psychology. I was drawn to psychology because it offered a unique combination of both scientific and philosophical perspectives on human behaviour. I was able to develop the skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis. It also allowed me to gain an understanding of the complexities of the human mind. After completing my PUC in Psychology, I felt that I had gained a good foundation in the field and wanted to expand my knowledge and skills further. I decided to pursue a BCom in Human Resources. This is when I found out about BMS College of Commerce and Management. As it was within the vicinity and the brand ‘BMS’ was always reputed made me choose this college.
Covid-19 and Its Impact
During the Covid-19 pandemic, getting admission to college was a difficult task. I was in a dilemma to choose between the college I wanted to take admission to and the college which was providing the course I was interested in. I started my admission process by researching different colleges, their fee structure, course curriculum, and online resources available. I discussed my options with my family and friends and finally made a decision to go to the college that was providing the best course curriculum. During my interview, I was only worried because I had to change the stream from Science to Commerce and did not know how they would take my answers. But the interview was hassle-free and smoothly finished. This gave me an assurance that even a Science background can opt-in and study commerce. It was indeed a great experience because we were the Covid 19 students.
Virtual Classes v/s Offline Classes
The past year has been difficult for everyone, especially college students. Offline to virtual classes was a bit of a roller coaster to adjust for. But surely was a vivid experience. I made sure I concentrated on all the classes for one year, as the stream was totally new to me. Our corporate communication classes were a stress buster. We had a virtual pick and speak, debates which were truly bliss as it was happening virtually and felt like we were in our classes. Our country presentations, Flair, Samskruthi fests. We had various clubs to take part in and a lot of things to explore. My first experience as an emcee was an exciting and nerve-wracking one all at the same time. We had case studies, presentations, on spot talks we were given so much of exposure towards our personalities. We were given the opportunity to take certification courses as an add-on, which would be so helpful to escalate our knowledge. We were also given placement training and were so grateful as I got placed in a very good company as an HR executive, where it is so friendly to work with and get along with colleagues there. Getting your dream job is always a source of happiness and satisfaction.
