Nature around us is beautiful with all its care and love. As we grow up, start our schooling and move to higher classes, we come to a crucial point where we need to choose a subject that will define our future career path. We are bombarded with a lot of questions on how to succeed in this particular field of study.

Science is the study of intellectual and practical activity encircling the methodological study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Biology deals with the study of living organisms, Chemistry deals with the study of matters, and physics deals with natural rules.  In this write-up, I will focus on the scope of chemistry.

Before we start let us discuss what is Chemistry? It is a branch of Science which deals with the composition, structure, and properties of matter. It is also subdivided into many other branches to govern changes across. Like Inorganic Chemistry (deals with the study of metals), Organic Chemistry (deals with the study of compounds made up of C, H, and O), and Physical Chemistry (deals with the study of basic properties required during the reaction.).

The involvement of Chemistry in our daily life starts from the time we open our eyes in the morning i.e. from toothpaste, breakfast to dinner what we eat. Our daily routine is full of chemicals that we use and get the benefit of. Therefore now we can foresee the scope of the same. Here I am listing few below:

The scope is mainly divided into two groups:

  1. Academic Field
  2. Technical Field

Academic Field

In school and colleges (UG, PG, and Engineering) as chemistry Faculties.

Research associate, Junior Scientist, and Senior Scientist in the field of research in renowned labs of India such as CSIR, DRDO, NCL, etc. (in Govt. lab). This field is for those who want to do something very important for their society.

Lab assistants of chemistry laboratory purposes (in higher studies).

Home tutors for all students or In the coaching institute.

Technical Field:

Industrial jobs are very progressive jobs nowadays choosing chemistry as a subject you open widespread opportunity for yourself. As a fresher candidate is appointed as a junior and with period time span growth in the particular sector is fixed. There are many industries where chemistry aspirants are hired. On the position as per the requirement of the company. Such as Quality control, Quality Assurance, project manager, Manufacturing head, Instrumentation officer, etc. There are many industries which are thrust area for jobs following are to name few:

Food industry:  Food is the basic need for living where the role of the chemist is very significant, as Chemist is responsible for quality parameters check.

Also, people aspiring jobs in government sectors can apply for Food Inspector post

Drug Industry: Pharmaceutical sector is a very promising sector for jobs as it is responsible for the manufacturing of life-saving drugs. We all know that India is leading worldwide in its pharma sector

Petrochemical Industry:  These industries are responsible for providing us with fuel for working smoothly

Cosmetic Industry:  Today all aspire to look great and be presentable all time. This area is also very much potential in terms of the job.

Paper Industry: Though we are aggressively moving towards a digital world, the use of paper can never be eliminated.

There are many industries which make our life easy-going such as plastic, health, sanitation, building materials, metal industries, articles for domestic use, entertainment, transport, communication, etc.

To protect our environment from pollution, Chemistry plays a vital role in making chemicals less toxic, effective, and eco friendly.

Chemistry also has one of the most important roles in the defensive mechanism of our country, DRDO lab is the place where with the help of chemicals numerous weapons are invented for the safety of people.

This is endless but I have summarised to make it precise and useful
