A:
{Source: BCA students & alumni}

Is Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya (SVVV) good for BCA?

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's what we've gathered:

* Placement: While the overall placement record seems decent, the BCA programme has relatively lower placement rates compared to other courses. According to the students' reviews, almost 40% of students get placed, with the highest package being around 7 Lacs and the average package ranging between 3-5 Lacs.
* Faculty: Teachers are generally considered average in terms of teaching skills, despite being knowledgeable and qualified.
* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, including well-equipped labs, classrooms, and a library.
* Curriculum: The course curriculum includes subjects like C Language, which is reportedly helpful for future endeavors.
* Campus life: Festivals and events are organized regularly, providing opportunities for socializing and extracurricular activities.

However, there are some drawbacks mentioned by students, such as:

* Average infrastructure
* Limited facilities for students
* Food quality could be better
* Some faculty members may not be approachable or helpful

Overall, while SVVV might not excel in every aspect, its strengths lie in providing good infrastructure, academic programs, and festivals. For students interested in pursuing a career in software engineering or related fields, SVVV might still be a viable option. However, it's essential to weigh these positives against the potential limitations and consider factors like placement records, faculty quality, and campus life when making an informed decision.

A place full of fun, projects, and satisfied with their faculty members.
Placements: As I tell about my batch, placement was about 50 to 60%. Everybody was not placed, but some students got placed in good companies like TCS, Synapse, Deloitte, etc. As software development and SQL development grew, some students went for Masters. The average package that students got was 4-5 LPA. The highest package that my friend got was 8 LPA, and the lowest was 2.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: There was no hostel. My college's hostel was very far away from the college, so we had to pay extra for the bus fees, and the canteen was just nice, not more than average, but the rates in the canteen were affordable. The sports department is average. There is no proper guidance for sports.
Faculty: The behavior of teachers was very good. All the teachers are well-educated, and all the teachers are master certified. I personally know some teachers who were very helpful in nature. The semester exams were not so difficult to pass, but there was a good level of exams.
Other: I attended multiple college events like Spandhan and Vinirmah. College events were so full of fun, and I enjoyed a lot there. The crowd on campus was very big with a lot of area.

About my college and college life.
Placements: Those students who get above 7.5 CGPA get placements easily with their knowledge & skills. The lowest package is 4-5 Lacs and the highest package of 2023 is 19.5 Lacs. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, etc. Our college does not provide any internship, but they help you find computer or coding roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: There are good facilities, and there is Wi-Fi in classrooms. They also have libraries in all buildings. Hostels are good, and the food quality is also good. They have all sports equipment for games. Their canteen has very good taste at a normal range, and they have medical rooms for emergencies.
Faculty: The faculty are very well and supportive. They are graduates and have better knowledge. They help for interview preparation. Semester exams are not easy, and the passing mark is 5 CGPA. You have to study for the semester exams, and 75% attendance is necessary.
Other: I chose this course because, in the future, B.Tech has scope, and this college is good for college life. They organize many events.

Review of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya.
Placements: The college's limited company visits and strict policy, prohibiting students from pursuing better job offers after receiving one, hinder career opportunities. The ineffective Placement Officer exacerbates the situation, leaving students feeling unsupported.
Infrastructure: The college boasts excellent infrastructure, with ongoing construction projects to expand capacity. The relevance of courses enhances the learning experience, ensuring students are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills for their chosen fields.
Faculty: The faculty's competency is average, but the courses offered are both relevant and of high quality. Exams are conducted fairly and without excessive difficulty, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students. Students benefit from well-structured courses and fair examinations.

Shri Vaishnav College, Indore
Placements: I didn't know about the placement, but yes, colleges provide placement, and the highest placement was, I think, 5-6 lakh per annum, and the lowest was 2 lakh per annum. Almost 40% of students got internships in many companies . Many companies came to the premises.
Infrastructure: There are all the facilities like Wi-Fi in the library, clean classrooms, labs with the maximum computer system, and many other things, but there is no network in the premises, and there is no hostel mess, sports, and games facility. Yes, the canteen has good food in taste and price also.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified, and their solution for our every question is very helpful for us. The teaching quality of our faculty is A1 . The semester examination is not at all difficult, but yes, there is very strictness in the exam hall.

Our college has a good infrastructure with huge crowd.
Placements: Around 60% of students get placed on campus. Recently, companies like Planful, Addend, Consultant, TCS, Digivalet, and Accenture have visited for placements. The highest salary package was 12 LPA was offered by the Consultant. Since the result has not been declared yet, TCS has set three cut-offs, 9 LPA for Prime, 7 LPA for Digital, and 3 LPA for Ninjas.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious and equipped with digital boards. The labs are limited in number and not well-equipped. The library is large and contains all the books recommended by the teachers. You can borrow up to three books at a time, as you are allowed only three cards, each valid for one week. Wi-Fi is available only in the labs and the library.
Faculty: As there are different people, some faculty members are helpful, while others are rude. Most of the faculty have a good, helpful nature. The course content is not sufficient to make you industry-ready, as it mainly provides basic knowledge due to the limited syllabus. The semester exams are easy, and you can pass them easily by completing the syllabus.

B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology - Batch of 2024
2.6
2Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Dissatisfied with the course curriculum. Infrastructure is nice.
Placements: As I see in my course, B.A. Hons. in Psychology, nobody really gets any job in any college. If you want to do jobs in other sectors, then there are companies that mostly provide jobs, such as call centers. But for the most part, jobs were there for people with a B.Tech, B.BA, or MBA background. So, although there were jobs provided for our batch, nobody even wanted to take them. About internships, our department does not permit internships, so if you want to get an internship, apart from finding your own internship, you will have to manage the timing in such a way that you fulfill the attendance requirement, or you'll probably be in trouble.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is average. They're developing new buildings so probably after 2-3 years it will be much better but as of now, its okay. library is nice; we have two and for someone who is actually interested in reading rather than just the aesthetics of library, that's good. Workable. There is Wi-Fi in the library, which I never used, but you can hustle and get your ID made for it. Wi-Fi is mostly only for B.Teach students. canteen is again nothing too extraordinary; its not as bad, apart from the fact that its mostly full. About the hostel, the complementary facilities are really nice. There are 1-2 water coolers on each floor, limited Wi-Fi available for Chrome and other platforms, a separate area for when your family comes so you can meet them there, a ground to themselves, they celebrate all the festivals, there is a sports room, and sometimes we get lucky enough to have trips. The bad thing is that the rules are very strict; there is no exception until you have some issue that the warden considers important enough. Apart from that, the food there (at least when I lived there) was really bad; the only masala they had was chillies, frequent chairs, even a clock of chairs once, and worms once in food. But food quality has increased a abit from what I heard after leaving. I used to have really bad breakouts in all my areas—chest, back, and face. And my chair was so sticky, I would have crazy hairfall and overall, it was just not manageable. It was due to the water there. But at the same time, others did not have issues such as mine; at least I didn't hear anything as such. But then people had issues with the drinking water. So you'll have to check if boring water suits you or not.
Faculty: Some faculty just do not have even decent information; the ones which do, they don't know how to share the knowledge. So that's of no use. But yeah, if you know how to bring out information, that's nice. Teaching quality is overall superficial. I have dreaded the opportunity to have discussions or debates but there are none. About curriculum, we have studied counseling twice and personality psychology not even once. We don't know about workplace psychology. Even for the subjects we had, such as social psychology, we did not study the theories in the subject, which were the most important part. The syllabus is just very generic so teacher have the freedom to teach in a very superficial level. Apart from that, the syllabus is very repetitive. We have read Freud and Psychodynamics so many times but every semester its the same as if Freudian Psychology just revolved around those five stages of development. The syllabus is just not apt. Exams are very to the point. One can pass easily if they actually read the subject.
Other: Everything I mentioned above in course section needs to be improved. The teachers are not that pathetic, as are the ones that were left. But anyway, if one tries to look for psychology hons in Indore, check DAVV and like actual ground reality there because, as of now, their condition is really bad. So in such a scenario, SVVV is your best bet. I really like our Vice Chancellor, so if you come here, find opportunity to work under him, I couldn't do it but you could maybe. The infrastructure of the university is being worked on, so I am hopeful that its going to be really pretty. I recommend choosing this college only if you cannot go out of Indore .
