Skill Development and Ex-Com Classes Helped Me Improve My Speaking and Communication Skills, Says Ranjitha Mariya D
I was very excited to join this college as it was a big step in my life. I was curious to know what will I learn in college and what new experiences will I get. After completion of my 12th class, I was looking for an institution which encourages not only marks but also talents. I wanted to find the right platform to showcase my talent. Along with this I also wanted to build my education to a higher level. So The reason I choose BCom as it offers a wide scope and freedom to build a career in any field. That is when I found this gem BMS College of Commerce and Management referred by one of my dance teammates. Also, the add-on courses offered by this college attracted me to feel confident about building a better future thereafter. Choosing BMS College of Commerce and Management out of all the other colleges was not at all a difficult task for me as it was already a set 'brand'. I was not wrong at all. My experience in BMS has been incredible. The faculty here have been really supportive and encouraging. I have been able to learn a lot and have also got the opportunity to participate in various competitions. The best part was the exposure I got to meet and interact with people from different perspectives. The college also provided me with the opportunity to explore my passion and interests. I had the chance to join the dance club and participate in various cultural events and competitions. Along with this, I was able to build a good network with people.
Overall, my experience in BMS has been amazing. The college has given me the chance to pursue my dreams and I am sure that this will help me in the future.
The Corona Batch
We are known to be the 'Corona batch', and I thought getting admission done in a reputed college would be an uphill battle. But thanks to BMS Management, which made the job easier. My family were looking for a college which meets our expectations like fee structure, add-on courses, college timings and location. Finally, I decided to get my admissions done. A faculty from the Corporate Communication department handled my interview. As a student, I had a fear of how my interview would take place. But it all went so smoothly that I couldn't wait to join the college. Since many procedures took place in online mode, we didn't have entrance exams as such. We had to face many challenges like online classes and no physical classes. But with the help of our faculties, our college made sure that we are getting the best experience. From attending classes to assignments and activities, we have made sure to understand the concepts and the syllabus in the best possible way. I am glad that I made the right decision to join BMS.
Skill Development Sessions
I'm someone who spends most of my time in the Tarang Cultural Club (where we practice our cultural program), rather than in my classroom. However, I enjoyed attending skill development and Ex-Com classes. This was handled by our corporate communication department. I am a person who likes to communicate and present. These classes allowed me to improve my speaking and communication skills. There's a lot to be learnt from these sessions such as speaking effectively, getting rid of stage fright, building confidence, interacting positively, and more. All these factors help us not only academically but also in the long run. Going back to culture, I was recognized in college at an online Flair event where I won multiple competitions. In a situation where course management was already a big hassle, our college even organized online cultural events and encouraged students to participate. I'm the dance team leader at our college. Together, as a group, we participated in many college events and also intercollegiate events. From practice to perfection, our faculties from the cultural department stayed until the end to make sure that we deliver the best results. Our major events like Flair and Samskruthi have provided a platform for many talented minds. Such experiences in college have brought out the best version of me. Not only that, I'm sure I will bring a lot of memories as a student.
