Founded in 1981, Vidyasagar University is a state-level university located in Midnapore district of West Bengal. The University is accredited with NAAC grade ‘B’. Currently, it houses 27 PG departments, 12 in Humanities and 15 in Science. Along with 46 UG colleges affiliated to it, the University offers different degree and diploma courses to its students at UG, PG and doctoral level.

The University follows the semester exam scheme for all its courses, these are conducted every six months (odd semester and even semester). Odd semester exams are conducted in November-December and the results are declared in March. The even semester exams are conducted in April-May and the results are declared in July.

Vidyasagar University Result 2020

Vidyasagar University has declared the semester exam results for various courses offered at UG, PG and doctoral level. Students can visit the official result portals of the University, including www.exametc.com/univercity and www.west-bengal.indiaresults.com/vidyasagar-university/default.aspx to check or download the results. Follow the steps given below to view or download the results through official website of Vidyasagar University:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Vidyasagar University (www.vidyasagar.ac.in). On its homepage, navigate to the ‘Examination/ Result’ tab

Step 2: Click on either of the two links available on the official result declaration page of Vidyasagar University

Step 3: Enter your university-assigned roll number. Hit ‘Submit’ button

Step 4: The semester score along with result status (pass/ fail) will get displayed on the screen. You can download the result or take a printout of the same for future references

Vidyasagar University Evaluation 2020

The evaluation scheme of Vidyasagar University is based on two, indices including internal assessment and end-semester examination. A student must earn 75 per cent or above attendance to appear end-semester examination (theory/ practical). The final semester result is based on composite aggregate obtained by a student in internal assessment and end-semester examination. To pass a particular semester, a candidate needs to score 40 per cent aggregate or above (including internal assessment and end-semester examination).

Internal assessment: It is based on evaluation of the students’ performances in short tests, tutorials, term papers, assignments and regular laboratory performance. The internal assessment is coordinated by course-in-charge. The internal assessment performance report of each subject carries 40 marks.

End-semester examination: The institute conducts end-semester examinations as prescribed by UGC. The qualifying marks for each theory paper is 30 per cent. A student who secures 40 per cent aggregate in a semester but scores less than 30 per cent in not more than two theory papers is provisionally promoted to the next semester but declared failed in those papers with less than 30 per cent aggregate. Such a student is required to clear these back papers in next two chances with more than 30 per cent aggregate. If a student fails to qualify in more than two papers in a semester, he has to repeat the semester in next academic session.

Vidyasagar University Revaluation 2020

For students who are not satisfied with their results of the current semester and want retotaling/ revaluation can fill respective application form to get their scorecard revaluated. The application for the same should be filled within 15 days from the date of result declaration. The form can be obtained from the examination cell of the University or can be filled online when the revaluation portal is made available for the students.

  • Retotaling: All students who appeared for their semester examinations are eligible for applying for retotaling of their answer scripts. In such a case, only the marks are totaled again. The copy is not rechecked. The application form for same is Rs 300
  • Revaluation: All current batch students who have appeared for their semester examinations are eligible for revaluation of their answer scripts. In such a case, without considering previous marks, the University checks the copy of the student again. The application form for same is Rs 400

Vidyasagar University Reappear Exam 2020

A student who fails to secure more than 30 per cent in end-semester examination for a particular subject needs to appear for back papers to pass that subject. The back papers are conducted in the following pattern:

  • A student may have a maximum of four back papers at any time of his tenure. The back papers of final year semesters are to be cleared in a special examination which is conducted within six weeks of the publication of results
  • For remaining semesters of the courses, back papers shall only be cleared with regular semester examinations in the next academic session
