Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik (YCMOU) is the fifth-largest Open University founded in 1989. It offers a plethora of UG, PG, certificate and diploma courses in distance learning and open mode under its eight designated schools and study centres. YCMOU follows the semester exam scheme (odd semester and even semester) for all the courses. These are conducted every six months. The odd semester examinations are usually held between November & December, results for these are declared in the month of March (tentatively). The exam for the even semester commences in the month of May & June and the results are declared in the month of June (tentatively). The results are published only on the official website of the University.

All the declared results on the official website are provisional until the marks are reflected in the final ‘Statement of Marks.’ Students can check their end semester examination result by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official site of YCMOU (ycmou.ac.in)

Step 2: On the top header tab, click on ‘Results’

Step 3: On the Results page, hit the 'Click here for Online Provisional Result' tab

Step 4: Enter the 16-digit PR number, Exam Event & Captcha and then tap the ‘Search’ button

Step 5: The semester score along with the result status will get displayed on the screen

Step 6: Candidates can now download the result or take a printout of the same for future reference

YCMOU Evaluation 2020

As per the YCMOU evaluation ordinance, the University has laid down certain rules and regulations to pass the course. To pass a particular subject, a student needs a minimum of 36 per cent aggregate. A student is awarded division at the end of the semester basis the below-mentioned eligibility:

Note: Incase of NC, E or H grade, students have to reappear in the end term examination again. Minimum fees for a reappear in UG courses is Rs 200 & for PG courses it is Rs 300.

Performance Evaluation:

The performance of a student is evaluated in three indices: SGPA, CGPA and YGPA. The CGPA is calculated based only on all pass courses ‘D and above grades’. The SGPA, CGPA and YGPA calculation process are mentioned below:

YCMOU Marksheet 2020

Students need to collect their mark sheets from the respective academic departments of YCMOU once the result is declared. The mark sheet of YCMOU consists of the following information:

  • Student’s Name
  • PR Number
  • Seat Number 
  • Examination Center
  • Name of Course
  • Subjects
  • Maximum Marks
  • Marks Obtained
  • Status (Pass/ Fail)

YCMOU Revaluation 2020

For students who are not satisfied with their results of the current semester and want revaluation can fill the marks verification or the revaluation form to get their answer book revaluated. First, the student needs to request for viewing the answer book by and then decide whether to apply for scrutiny or revaluation challenge.

Application Fee (in Rs):

The application fee can be paid in cash or DD drawn in favour of ‘The Finance officer, YCM Open University, payable at Nashik.’

  • Copy of Answer Book: Students can obtain the scan copy of the answer sheet from the University within 15 days of result declaration. Not more than 2 copies are allowed. Fee for the same is Rs 200 per copy which can be only paid through DD. The student needs to provide a valid email ID to receive the answer copes.   • Marks Verification: Students who got less marks than their expectations can opt for the marks verification process. In such a case, YCMOU will only do re-totalling of marks. The application form can be obtained from the official website within 15 days of result declaration. Students can download it in pdf format and can take a print out of the same. Once the form is filled, it must be submitted to the examination cell of YCMOU along with Rs 100 per paper. The marks verification fee can be paid in cash or through DD.   • Revaluation: Students can apply for revaluation if they are not satisfied with their marks. In such a case, without considering previous marks, YCMOU checks the copy of the student again. The application form can be obtained from the official website within 10 days of result declaration. Students can download it in pdf format and can take a print out of the same. Once the form is filled, it must be submitted to the examination cell of YCMOU along with a copy of the mark sheet and Rs 500 per paper. The revaluation fee can either be paid in cash or through DD. Note: In case of an incomplete application form, it will lead to rejection and the fee will not be refunded to the student. 

YCMOU Grievances:

Any grievances related to university question paper like out of syllabus, repeated questions, improper split of marks, marks missed, wrong question number during semester exams can be notified to the examination cell by filing the YCMOU grievances form.

YCMOU Reappear Examination 2020

Students with ‘E’ & ‘H’ grade in any subject are required to appear in the ‘Reappear Examination’ in the subsequent years. The sessional marks obtained by the student in the first attempt will be carry forwarded to the final tabulation of the Carry-Over exam. Students may obtain the YCMOU Reappear Exam Form from the respective study center. The form needs to be submitted back along with the PRN Number and a fee of Rs 500 paid through challan in Maharashtra Bank.
