Uttarakhand BTech Admission counselling is an online centralised counselling process conducted by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, formerly Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU). Via the counselling process, candidates are granted admission to the first year of the BTech course in university departments, campus institutions and affiliated government / private institutes of Uttarakhand and College of Technology, G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.

The Uttarakhand BTech admission seat allotment is based on JEE Main ranks and class 12 marks. However, while allotting the seats candidates with JEE Main scores are given priority and then the candidates with class 12 marks only are considered.

The eligibility to apply for Uttarakhand BTech admission is given below:

• Passed 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information /Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship.
• Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. 

The candidates will have to first register on the counselling portal and create their login ID and password. All the candidates will have to deposit INR 2000  as a counselling fee.

The steps to fill out the counselling application form are given below:

Step 1: Application fee payment - To begin with, aspirants will have to pay the application fees via net banking, debit or credit card. The application fee for Uttarakhand BTech Admission 2025 is INR 2000 for all students. Paying the fee is a must to continue the application process.

Step 2: Online registration - Once the application fee is paid, aspirants will be required to register themselves online with details like

• JEE Main Application Number
• JEE Main Roll Number
• Name of the aspirant
• Date of Birth of the aspirant
• Transaction ID
• Date of Payment
• Mode of Payment

Aspirants will also be required to create a password to protect their accounts during registration.

Step 3: Login - After successfully registering, aspirants will be required to login to their heir accounts using their JEE Main Roll Number, Login ID and Password.

Step 4: Filling Personal Details and Educational Background - At this step, aspirants need to fill in their personal details and educational background. After entering the required details, aspirants are advised to check the application form carefully.

Step 5: Upload photograph - The photograph must be a minimum size of 35x45 mm and should cover at least 75% of the candidate's face and head. A caption with the candidate's name and the date of the photograph should be placed at the bottom. The photograph should be taken against a white or very light-coloured background.

Step 6: Take the printout of the filled application form - After this, aspirants need to submit and take printouts of the application form which will be needed by selected candidates during counselling sessions.

Step 1: Counselling Fee Deposition and Online Registration - Candidates must check eligibility before they apply for counselling. The registration process includes paying the application fee, registration, filling out the online application form, uploading a photograph of the candidate and taking a print of the filled-in form.

Step 2: Choice Filling by the Candidates - The registered candidates have to then fill in choices of institute and courses in order of their preference.

Step 3: Seat Allotment - The candidates are then allotted seats based on their qualifications, category and choices filled by them.

Step 4: Seat Confirmation (Freeze / Float / Withdraw) - Candidates must then confirm the allotted seat by selecting freeze, float or the withdraw options available to them.

Step 5: Reporting to Allotted Institutions by the Candidate - Once the candidates confirm their allotted seat, they have to complete the admission process by reporting to the allotted institute with all the necessary documents.

The selection criteria for Uttarakhand BTech admission 2025 is based on JEE Main scores and the class 12 marks of the candidates. The selection criteria are given below:

1. First JEE Main rank holder will be given preference.
2. Percentage of marks in all subjects issued by the concerned Higher Secondary Council in the Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12).
3. Date of Birth (In case of an equal percentage of marks in 12th, the candidate with a higher age will be given preference).

The candidates have to fill in the choice of the category or sub-category in which they want to take main admission and then fill in their admission choice. Candidates are advised to fill as many choices as possible so that they have a higher chance of getting a seat allotted. While filling out the options, the candidate should keep in mind that they should be filled in the order of preference of the institute/branch (in which they want to take admission) and save it. The choices must be submitted only when candidates are sure that there is no need to make any change in the preference order or choice. Once submitted, candidates will not be able to change the options again.

While filling in the choices, candidates should ensure that they do not select the choices under pressure and fill in the choices only after getting good information about the choices. The candidates are also advised to take a printout of the choices they have filled.

The Uttarakhand BTech counselling 2025 seat allotment result can be checked online on the official website, uktech.ac.in. Candidates can check their seat allotment result and after seat allocation, candidates will have to appear for admission directly in the allotted institute within the stipulated period. The allotment of seats will be based on the selection criteria, the choices filled by the candidates, and their category.

The candidates shall be also issued the seat allotment letter. To know about the Institute and Branch allotment, candidates can print their allotment letter from the website during the prescribed date. Also, after seat allocation, candidates will have to exercise the options of freeze / float / withdraw.

Once the seat is allotted to the candidates via the Uttarakhand BTech counselling 2025, they have to decide on the allotted seats. The candidates can either freeze the seat or choose to float or withdraw. Freeze, float and withdraw options are described below:

Freeze

The Freeze option must be selected if the candidate is happy with the allotted seats and wants to confirm the admission. Upon selecting the Freeze option, the candidate must deposit INR 10000 on the designated web portal for online admission. The candidate must complete the admission process at the assigned institute within the specified date, presenting all original certificates and documents, and paying the remaining fee.

Opting for Freeze will remove the candidate from the counselling process. However, if the candidate fails to complete the admission process at the assigned institute within the specified period after selecting the Freeze option, they will not be considered admitted and will have the option to participate in the counselling process again by paying a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs 2000/- in the next round of counselling.

Float

The "Float" option enables candidates to prioritise a higher choice than their currently allotted option. Candidates opting for the Float option must deposit INR 10000 online and await seat allocation in the subsequent counselling rounds for a better seat. If a better seat is not allocated in the second or third counselling rounds, the candidate must accept the originally allotted seat. Upon being allocated a better seat in the second or third counselling, candidates have the choice to "freeze" the seat, necessitating them to complete admission procedures at the allotted institute within the specified date. Once a seat is frozen, the candidate is no longer part of the counselling process.

Withdraw

 If a candidate chooses the withdrawal option, that candidate will also be out of the counselling process. To participate in the next counselling, such a candidate has to register again as a new candidate and pay the counselling fee (counselling Fee-Non Refundable) INR 2000 online.

Candidates have to appear at the allotted institute by the last date prescribed along with all the necessary original certificates, one attested photocopy of all the certificates and 2 photographs. The guidelines issued by the allotted institute must be also followed by the candidates for verification of the certificates. Candidates will have to provide all certificates related to any reservation in the prescribed format issued by the Uttarakhand Government.

• Candidates will have to submit a permanent residence certificate for admission in reserved seats of state quota.
• In case the candidates have passed the minimum eligibility for admission from Uttarakhand, they will be eligible only for general category seats of the state quota.
• Women candidates will also need a permanent residence certificate for admission to the women's seat.
• Armed Force (AF) seats are for the dependents of ex-servicemen. For this, the certificate issued by the Sainik Rehabilitation Welfare Board will be valid.

If a candidate fails to submit the specified certificates at the time of admission, the candidate's allotment will be automatically revoked, and the seat will be made available for the next round of counselling.
