Finding internships is a tedious task if the students don’t work on building their corporate network from the first year itself. They should keep their resume up-to-date and establish a presence on professional platforms like LinkedIn.

Business Management is a multi-disciplinary course with a myriad of specializations and practical managerial skills to be learned. The course is a proportionate mix of theoretical knowledge and experiential learning through projects, research, and internships. Internships are an integral part of learning in business management. If a job is a battleground, an internship is your practice field. In SCMS, it is mandatory for students to take one NGO and one corporate internship as part of the curriculum in the 4th semester. BBA offers you skills and knowledge to intern in various work profiles depending upon your specialization. For example, a finance student can intern as a financial analyst, and a marketing student can work in sales and marketing roles.

Finding internships is a tedious task if the students don’t work on building their corporate network from the first year itself. They should keep their resume up-to-date and establish a presence on professional platforms like LinkedIn. As part of off-campus placement activities, you can attend conferences and business meets to network with many professionals. It will help you a lot in finding internships during BBA and also jobs after BBA. Our college has an Internship cell that works to bring several summer and winter internships on campus to students. Students have to apply with their resume, attend briefing sessions, and sit for an interview to get placed as an intern.

For first-year students, internships generally require basic managerial and technical skills like Excel, PowerPoint, and excellent communication. Students can intern in business development roles, back-end marketing roles, sales, and fundamental management roles. From the second year, students can find internships in their specific specializations and tasks become more industry-specific and complex. BBA students can find work in any leading corporate firm. However, many students prefer working in growing start-ups where they have to put several skills to test and a number of roles from all domains to perform as per the requirement.

Students can learn a lot from working on several projects during their internships. For example, marketing internships will teach you how to write marketing copies, run campaigns, and on-ground sales strategies. Finance internships will help you apply various financial tools to business problems. Along with technical skills and knowledge, taking up in-office internships will also teach you crucial people skills required in a job as you work in a real-time corporate environment. Recruiters also give preference to students who have gained experience through internships. That is why internships can prove to be a gateway to your dream job in your dream company.
