June 28, 2022: To transform the Indian educational system, the government of India took the risky move of implementing the National Education Policy. The strategy was introduced with an eye on the shifting demands of the international market. Holistic and multidisciplinary education with topic flexibility is one of the primary strategies covered in the New Education strategy, allowing students to select their own learning paths and programmes. Nearly ten years ago, the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Pune, effectively adopted this original strategy under the moniker "Cafeteria Approach." The cafeteria method of teaching incorporates students and their overall development throughout the process as opposed to only focusing on books, subjects, or notes. For young professionals, the cafeteria approach of learning offers a variety of alternatives.

By letting them choose from a variety of specialities and compile a basket of their favourite subjects that help them acquire specific skills for their career path, this method enables students to explore their interests. The greatest strategy to help the next generation of business leaders is to use a variety of pedagogical techniques.

At Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune, students can create their own bouquet of subjects thanks to the cafeteria method. Numerous electives are available at SCMS Pune, and the programme structure gives students the freedom to choose the courses they want to take. Students at SCMS Pune are exposed to a variety of areas in addition to management courses. For example, they can choose to study design, law, photography, or even culinary arts. In SCMS, this interdisciplinary strategy is known as floating credits. It offers a comprehensive perspective and helps students develop many abilities that are crucial in every aspect of life and are easily transferable to other professional settings.

A fundamental BBA programme with three tracks—Corporate Management, Accounting & Finance, and International Business—was offered as the program's first offering by SCMS Pune. The needs of students and the market have both changed significantly over time, along with the landscape of global education. The SCMS, Pune was the first to recognise the need for and imperative of adaptation. Finally, the institute split Corporate Management into Human Resources Management and Marketing Management in order to accommodate the change in the worldwide environment.

The cafeteria technique is used at SCMS Pune, where students can design their own bouquet of studies. At SCMS Pune, there are many electives accessible, and the curriculum structure allows students to select the courses they want to pursue. In addition to business courses, students at SCMS Pune are exposed to a wide range of subjects. They may decide to pursue a career in design, law, photography, or even the culinary arts. This interdisciplinary approach is known as floating credits in SCMS. It provides a complete viewpoint and aids in the development of several skills that are essential in all facets of life and are easily transferrable to different professional contexts.

College is good in terms of exposure and extracurriculars, but it can improve a little otherwise.

Placements: The current placement percentage is over 95%, but out of students who apply. Salary packages range from 5 LPA - 10 LPA. Companies like Zomato, Tries Vista, KPMG, Swiggy, and ICICI Bank come for recruitment. Internships are scarce and non-rewarding. Top roles are in the marketing and finance domains.

Not value for money but Great choice if you want to socialize and party.

Placements: You have to particularly apply and register for placements. Basically if you want to opt in or not , in my opinion its a great facility provided by the college. And also the college does not bother you if you don't decide to sit or opt in for placements.

Kindly dissatisfied because of the infrastructure and facilities, but the social life is good.

Placements: Generally, 95% of the students sitting for placements get placed. However, the percent of students sitting for placements itself is quite low. The high package that was offered this year was 11 LPA, the lowest was 3–4 LPA, I believe, and the average was 5-8 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Zomato, Amazon, and ICICI Bank. We have frequent internship drives provided by the college itself, for which an average of 15-20 students apply and 4-5 get the internship. At the same time, there are big...

I am absolutely satisfied and happy to be a part of this college.

Placements: More than 90% of students are placed in the course. The highest salary package offered is 7.15 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, Zomato, TresVista, Accenture, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger. The course has a mandatory component of corporate internship where every student is required to intern in the field of their choice namely, finance, marketing, HR, etc. Students can get interns...

Great college, immense potential, failure in execution.

Placements: 98% of students interested in placements were placed. The highest package was around 8.8LPA. The lowest package was around 2.5LPA (not sure). The median package is 5 LPA. Most placements range from salary offerings of 3LPA to 6LPA, with five or six companies exceeding 7LPA. Top companies on campus were Accenture, DeltaX, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Fuld and Company, Zomato, and so on. Top roles offered were HR trainee, general management trainee, marketing analyst, financial analyst, social media manag...
