Delhi University officials held a meeting with Union HRD Minister over DU Admission 2020. Read further to know more.
Delhi University has extended the online registration process of DU Admission for the academic session 2020-21 to 18 July. Final admission to merit-based UG programmes to Delhi University depend on the cut-off score released by the college and candidate's score in the last qualifying examination i.e. Class 12th Board Exam. The Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal held a meeting with Delhi University officials to discuss the admission process while the CBSE Board Results 2020 are still pending. During the meeting, the discussion was done on synchronizing the calendar for DU Admissions 2020 with the CBSE 12th Board examination results 2020.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has earlier cancelled the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th board exams 2020 for pending papers due to the rise in coronavirus cases in the Country. CBSE later also released the assessment criteria which was approved by the Supreme Court to release CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020.
However, the assessment scheme was criticised by a lot of students raising concerns over their admissions in Delhi University.CBSE has also decided to give an option to improve CBSE 12th Results by appearing for the cancelled CBSE 12th Board exams at a later date when the situation is conducive.

Varsity conducts Delhi University Entrance Test 2020 (DUET) and Delhi University Joint Admission Test 2020 (DU-JAT) to shortlist aspirants for admission to selective UG courses.
DU PG admission 2020 is based on two modes, namely direct entry and entrance exam. For selective PG courses, admission is done through DUET 2020 and DU-JAT 2020.
As per the University sources, it is looking to extend the admission window in order to accommodate those students who will be appearing for JEE Main 2020, JEE Advanced 2020 and NEET 2020 exams.
As per the new announcement made by the JEE (Main), is scheduled to be held over a period of six days β September 1 to 6. NEET, meant for undergraduate medical programmes, is scheduled for September 13, and JEE (Advanced) for September 27.
Delhi University will be finishing the admission process once the entrance exams are over. The new academic session for the first-year students is likely to start by November.
The meeting between university representatives and ministry officials was held amidst growing student discontent over DUβs decision to evaluate them online.
Delhi University has so far received 3,25,946 applications for undergraduate courses, 1,28,833 for postgraduate courses, 22,701 for the MPhil and PhD courses.
Anju Srivastava, Principal, Hindu College had earlier revealed that Delhi University cut off 2020 would be announced after the CBSE 12th results 2020 are announced on July 15, as notified by the board.
