JKBOSE postponed the ongoing examinations again due to the nationwide lockdown.
Amid the nationwide lockdown to combat the COVID-19 spread in India, The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) decided to postpone ‘all the ongoing examinations of JKBOSE for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th being held across the Jammu and Kashmir region'. The Board took this decision after the directions for enforcement of complete safety restrictions came from the state government.
To confirm the postponement of all JKBOSE 10th, 11th and JKBOSE 12th examinations, the Board released an official notice that states, ‘In continuation to the notification, wherein due to the outbreak of COVID-19, as a precautionary measure, all the ongoing examination of JKBOSE for classes 10th, 11th and 12th being held across Jammu and Kashmir were postponed up to March 31, 2020, are being now postponed till further orders. Rescheduled dates will be communicated separately’
Class 10, 11, and 12 students are requested to follow the official website of JKBOSE to get all the upcoming updates related to fresh schedules and postponements.

In addition to the postponement of the JKBOSE board exams 2020, the board suspended the evaluation work of SSE & HSP-II Annual
Regular Summer Zone 2020 at JKBOSE Jammu Division as well. The decision is taken considering the health and safety of the staff members involved in the evaluation process. The suspension of the evaluation work refers to subsequent delay in the results as well.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board postponed the examinations until March 31. On March 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the nationwide lockdown in India in order to control the novel coronavirus spread. The lockdown led to further postponement of various examinations including JKBOSE 10th, 11th, and 12th. The PM urged people to stay inside and advised everyone to practice social distancing. As of now, research leaders have not come up with any vaccine against the virus. Social distancing is considered as the best method to prevent the COVID-19 spread.
