The HRD Minister also asked the board to conduct the pending exam for main subjects only.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared that it will announce the exam dates for the remaining subjects 10 days in advance. According to a notification released on April 1, the CBSE said that it is difficult for the Board to announce dates for pending exams now due to the current emergency situations prevailing in the country. The board also asked the students to not worry as it will announce the dates of the pending exams at least 10 days before commencing them.
In the official press release, the CBSE stated ‘However, it is informed that any decision that the board will take with regard to the conduct of examinations will be taken by undertaking extensive consultation with higher education authorities and by keeping all aspects related to entrance exams, admissions dates, etc. in mind. In this context, it is further informed that the Board will give notice of about 10 days to all stakeholders before starting the Board examinations.’
The Ministry of Human Resource Development Ministry ordered CBSE to resume the exams that are pending only after analyzing the prevailing situations. It also directed the Board to decide the exam dates as and when it is in a position to conduct it.
The HRD Minister also asked the board to conduct the pending exam for main subjects only. As per the Board and the Ministry, the main subjects are those which are required for promotion and may be crucial for admission in higher education institutions.
In the CBSE official notification regarding the pending exams states that the Board will not hold examinations for the rest of the subjects. The instructions regarding the marking and assessment for all these examinations will be communicated and issue separately.
