This year, the Board will keep the ratio of 30:70 for MCQ and descriptive questions.
GSEB Board Exams 2021: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on November 26, 2020, declared that there will be a general option instead of an internal option so far as descriptive answers are concerned in examinations for 2020-21 from Class 9 onwards including GSEB 10th and GSEB 12th. GSEB decided to offer the relaxation of granting general options in tests in the secondary section considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation. The reports also suggest that it also decided to increase the portion of multiple-choice questions from 20% to 30% this year for students of Class 9-11 in general and science streams. This year, the Board will keep the ratio of 30:70 for MCQ and descriptive questions. It also communicated its decision of the changes in the examination method to all district education officers and other concerned authorities.
Earlier, the board decided to do away with the system of 50% multiple-choice questions for GSEB Class 12 science examinations but now it will retain the system for one more year. The ratio of MCQs will remain the same.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Board of State Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE), decided to postpone the GSEB 10th and GSEB 12th Board Exam 2021 by two months. According to the revised notification, Gujarat Board Exams 2021 will be held in the month of May considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Generally, the GSEB Class 10 Board Exams and GSEB Class 12 Board Exams begin in the first week of March, but this year owing to the unprecedented times of COVID-19, the board decided to postpone the exams and commence it in May 2021.
