Education minister Lalchhandama Ralte on April 15 stated that Mizoram HSSLC class 12 examinations will commence from April 22.
The Mizoram government decided to resume examination for class 12 students. According to the reports, Education minister Lalchhandama Ralte on April 15 stated that Mizoram HSSLC class 12 examinations will commence from April 22. He further added that the lockdown due to the novel coronavirus outbreak abruptly postponed the ongoing class 12 examination.
Despite the extended nationwide lockdown, the Mizoram government decided to conduct the pending class 12 board exams. While addressing the media regarding the pending Mizoram HSSLC class 12 exam dates, the Mizoram education minister stated, 'The examination will be resumed on April 22 and will continue till April 24 in three remaining subjects in 84 centres across the state.' Mr Ralte further added that in order to bridge the gap in the education system and reduce the inconvenience of the students, the state government also launched virtual classes on television.
To prevent the academic loss of the students, the state government also started home classes on Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl. The telecast of the home classes started on April 13 on Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl between 3 pm and 5 pm for class- 10 students in science and mathematics. The minister also stated that classes on similar lines are also launched on local cable television 'LPS' on April 15 at 4 pm and on another local cable television 'Zonet' from April 16 at 2 pm. Next week onwards, the state government will also begin online tutorial classes for class 9 students.
According to the education minister, the home classes broadcasted on Doordarshan Kendra, Aizawl are uploaded on YouTube. Students can access these classes anytime as per their needs. Mr Ralte advised students to attend these television classes with notebooks and pens, and make use of the online tutorial uploaded on YouTube.
The Mizoram education department official started the new academic session (2020-21) as per the school calendar on April first.
