The UP Board Class 10, 12 examinations have been scrapped due to COVID-19.
Presently marks would be awarded to the students largely on the basis of scores obtained in the previous class and the pre-board exams held earlier. It has also been decided that students of these classes must be given an opportunity to appear in exams when conditions improved so that they may get a fair chance to increase their marks.
Speaking about the same, an official of the secondary education department said, "We are giving an option to students that if they are not satisfied with the marks for the cancelled exam, the board will allow them to appear in the said exam next year when high school and intermediate examinations will be held."
The UP Board Class 12 examinations 2021 were cancelled on June 3, 2021, amid the second wave of COVID-19. The same was announced by Deputy CM and state Education Minister Dinesh Sharma to the media. While the UP Board Class 10 examinations were declared to be cancelled on May 29 by Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. The students will be promoted to the next grade.
