Q:   Can I know the admission procedure for MSc Medical Physiology AIIMS?

A:
The admission procedure for M.Sc. Medical Physiology at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) may vary from year to year. However, I can provide you with a general outline of the admission process based on previous years' information. It's important to note that the specific details and requirements may change, so it's always recommended to refer to the official AIIMS website or the prospectus for the most accurate and up-to-date information. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by AIIMS. For M.Sc. Medical Physiology, you typically need a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (Bachelor's degree) from a recognised university. Additionally, candidates must have studied Physics Chemistry Biology and English during their undergraduate studies. Entrance Examination: AIIMS conducts a common entrance examination for admission to its M.Sc. Courses, including Medical Physiology. The entrance exam is typically computer-based and consists of multiple-choice questions. It assesses candidates' knowledge in subjects like Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Biophysics. Result and Merit List: After the entrance exam, AIIMS publishes the results and a merit list based on the candidates' performance in the exam. The merit list determines the candidates' ranks. Counseling and Seat Allotment: Candidates who qualify in the entrance exam and meet the cutoff criteria are eligible for counseling. They must bring their original documents, such as educational certificates, mark sheets, and identification proof. Once the documents are verified, candidates need to pay the admission fees to secure their admission. It's crucial to keep an eye on the official AIIMS website for the release of the prospectus and notifications regarding M.Sc. Admissions. The prospectus will provide detailed information about the eligibility criteria, application process, entrance examination, counseling, and other relevant details specific to the M.Sc. Medical Physiology programme at AIIMS.

Q:   Can I get into AIIMS Delhi without NEET?

A:

The answer will be both yes and no. Getting into AIIMS Delhi without NEET is possible since AIIMS Delhi offers a lot of courses apart from MBBS, such as BSc, MSc, PB BSc Nursing, MD, MS, DM and MCh, among various others. Admission to all these courses is either subject to an institute-specific entrance exam or INICET.

However, if the ultimate objective is to crack AIIMS New Delhi for MBBS, a student has to go through the NEET UG entrance exam followed by the counselling process. If the ranking and score obtained in the exam match with the minimum requirement of the institution, the student will get admission here for MBBS, otherwise not.

A really good college in everything, from teaching to extracurricular activities.
Placements: Most of our seniors are currently doing PhD in reputed research institutes all over India as well as in other countries. Masters students are being offered stipends during the whole curriculum. Students need to search for jobs by themselves as there is no placement cell established here.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and labs are well-designed here. Students have access to libraries even at night. Food served in the mess is good and hygienic. Hostels are easily available to students who are not from Delhi, and the rest can get hostels after waiting for a couple of months.
Faculty: Professors in the college are highly qualified, and in M.Biotech department, most of the professors are young and very dedicated. The course curriculum is vast, but it covers every essential topic. Presentations are provided to the students. The number of students in masters is 14, and there are eight professors.
Other: Pulse fest is organised at a very big level every year. Many extracurricular activities are being organised here throughout the year.

AIIMS is a globally recognised institution and is doing its best in the health sector.
Placements: There are no placement opportunities provided by the college in the medical field. We are supposed to start our own practice. We can even apply for posts of faculty if there are any vacancies in good colleges. Students mostly prefer pursuing PhD from the same institute to add a degree to their academic career.
Infrastructure: It is one of the oldest institutes in the country. The campus is spread over a vast area in South Delhi. It is a Mecca for the health sector in India. There are issues in a few old buildings as they have narrow passages and flaking wooden furniture. However, they are renovating some parts of the college.
Faculty: I am pursuing medical M.Sc. course in the department of physiology. There are 20 faculty members per batch from 1st to 3rd year in our department. They include 8 senior residents, 6 junior residents, and 5 others who have M.Sc degrees. The course includes learning methods of a post-graduate level as there is a thesis presentation activity in our area of interest.
Other: A lot of academic activities are organised in the college. The cream crowd of the country are available here.
