On Admissions

Q:   Can I join Institute of Management and Computer Studies directly?

A:

The Institute of Management and Computer Studies admission process for 2023 offers both online and offline options. Undergraduate and part-time postgraduate programs follow a merit-based admission system, while full-time postgraduate courses require a valid score in a course-specific entrance exam recognised by the institute. Specific details for each course are as follows: Admission to UG courses like BCom and BMS is based on Class 12 exam merit scores. Full-time PG courses consider both merit scores and a valid national/state-level entrance exam score. Part-time PG courses, including MMM, MFM, and MHRDM, strictly adhere to merit-based admission according to University of Mumbai regulations. MCA admission necessitates a valid score in the MAH MCA CET exam, while PGDM and MMS require a valid score in CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT, MAH CET, or any state-level MBA entrance test, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round.

Unless and until they don't improve the management, placement faculty members and teaching faculties, the companies will not provide any placement job in the college.

The Lion of Mumbai University.
Placements: Talking about placement approximately 70 to 80 percent of the students were placed in the previous batch in their third year and they got decent packages the highest was around 5.5L PA and the average was around 3L PA. Talking about myself I also want to get placed in a decent company and after that complete, my post-graduation and I'm confident that I will get placed because previous year many companies visited campus including tata, Dabur, IBM, ifb, Infosys, Microsoft, zomato, Oyo, airtel, and many more.
Infrastructure: We don't provide hostel facilities because the main crowd of the college is domestic, the kids who are from outside stay in PG and get regular help from college and teachers when needed. The canteen of the college develops frequently with new dishes and better varieties.
Faculty: The exam structure is very good in my opinion. Two exams are conducted per semester, one is internals and one is externals. The internals is of 25 marks (20 of it is written and 5 of it is attendance and activities) and the external is of 75 marks.
Other: My first year of BFM was in the afternoon batch which was from 11:30 am to 4 pm for BMS it was a morning batch that was from 8 am to 11 :30 am. I liked this schedule because it didn't make the college very crowded and chaotic. The number of students in this college is large enough. For my second year in BFM we have been shifted to the morning batch with BMS because the new first-year students will be commending their lectures soon. I admire the management of timings and courses in this college.

Absolutely satisfied with faculty, overall good atmosphere, good campus, and infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are average to good. The average percentage of students who got placed in this college was 70-100%. Though many students get internships from every course in this college, you can still opt for it. The top role offered in my BMS course is assistant marketing manager.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very neat and clean infrastructure with air-conditioned rooms and good lighting. Wi-Fi is also available on campus. We have 2 library rooms which are fully equipped with books for every course and specialisation. We also have a canteen with very good food options available.
Faculty: Exams are held regularly for the semester and for the revision of the units. Teachers in our college are very helpful. Whatever you ask them, they immediately solve your queries. They are well qualified for the post that they teach. This course makes you industry-ready.
Other: I chose BMS as it is one of the best courses that can be done there. Professors are good and knowledgeable in our college.

This college is very good for MCA and also the placement is very good for 2022.
Placements: It is good college, approximately 90% students placed in MCA and the highest package is 5 LPA and 3 is the lowest and the average package is 3.5 LPA. In college there are many companies coming like TCS, Capgimini, Sankey Solution, ORT and most of the students, approximately 90% students got internship in TCS, Capgimini, ORT and other companies. There are many roles offered like Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Associate Consultant.
Infrastructure: In the college there are Wi-Fi network available for the students and staff also. And the labs are good and approximately 50 computers are there. And the classes are big and library is very silent and maintenance for study. The hostel is also good and the canteen is good and hygienic food is served. Also many functions are happening and sports are also there.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful qualified and knowledgeable and his/her teaching quality is good if we ask something then he/she explain again and again. In MCA the Mumbai university curriculum is very good for industry like Python, Advanced Java, ML, Hadoop, Big Data, Cyber Security. Semester exam is good but sometimes the paper is difficult and the pass percentage of students is approximately is 80%.

Poor infrastructure, poor facilities, poor canteen, and at last poor college administration.
Placements: College does not provide campus placement ; after graduation, you are responsible for finding employment. The  college will not help you, and the pay for internships is very low. Overall, nothing is better.
Infrastructure: Poor infrastructure. No AC is provided. Poor facilities and canteen is a little place with below average food.
Faculty: It depends on how often you attend the lectures because if you don't, you've already failed because they check your attendance for exams. There are many things you can learn from the lectures, and there are also presentations, so it was a cool experience.
Other: I had selected this course to learn and earn for myself and for my family.

I am not satisfied with this college. It is a waste of money and time.
Placements: There were no top companies come for placements, they were just random companies whose names was no one heard before. Students got internships and jobs, but the pay was low. The college overrates themselves to a high level during admission which was later realised by the students with first 1 to 2 months.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility was not available. Laboratories, canteen, and library were available, but no proper Wi-Fi for students. At the moment they do not provide any such facilities as they were yet on the online mode of teaching.
Faculty: The teaching was not good, most of the time they just give holidays, if they do not want teachers or if they were preparing for certain exams. The portion also was never completed on time which makes it very difficult for students who study on their own by self-study.
Other: In this college, fests were not held. I left the college after my FYBAF was completed 2021 and started my preparation for CA inter the college was very supportive towards my decision and up to February 2022, they were not ready to provide me with documents and leaving certificate the head of department Kavita Verma was asking Rs 40,000.

I am very satisfied with this college, and it is worth it.
Placements: 89% of students got placed in various companies. The highest salary a student received was 5 LPA, the lowest package was 3 LPA, and the average package was 4.5 LPA. There are many companies that recruit students, like Godrej, Bajaj, Tata, and Larson and Turbo.
Infrastructure: The college building is awesome, and it has all the facilities a top college should have. The building is Wi-Fi enabled with a huge library and computer labs. The college also conducts various sports events, which help students with extracurricular activities.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and very qualified. The course curriculum helps students to get into any industry. The teaching quality is great, and the teachers make every student understands what they have taught.
Other: This college offers different courses apart from BMS, and the teaching faculty are very well-trained and qualified.
