Assumption College: A Door to Your Career.

Placements: Above 60% of students get placed each year in Assumption College. There are many companies, ranging from Accenture to Federal Bank etc. The packages start from 30,000 to 60,000, with 60,000 being the highest. The course B.A. English Literature, Communication, and Journalism open doors to many opportunities, such as any fields related to media, teaching, HR, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities of our department are friendly, understanding, and helpful to the students. They are very passionate about their field and the best at their job. Their enthusiasm and caring nature have been one of the reasons that attracted me to this college. Each and every department has Wi-Fi, there are lab facilities, and an amazing library filled with study materials that can help in your studies.

Faculty: The teachers are very well-qualified and knowledgeable and are excellent in their work. The course curriculum is very relevant and covers all the major aspects of the three main core subjects of the course and trains us for our desired fields. The course also provides us with open courses in which we can learn the basics of other subjects, which can help in the future. The semesters are manageable and comparatively easy if we study well. The pass percentage is 50%.

The college had a good infrastructure with wonderful library and teaching faculty.

Placements: Communicative English is a triple main course and a self-financing course offered at Assumption College, Changanacherry. It was wonderful in terms of their syllabus and the two internships that come along with the course. This course had limited seats with the best teaching faculty for journalism, business communication, and English literature. By the end of the course, students can choose their fields from these three courses. They sometimes offer interviews with Amazon, Myntra, and Byju's for the position of public relations and human resource management. One month of teaching and journalism internships were offered while I was studying the course. Good CBSE schools like The Christ School Thiruvalla, print and media journalism like The Hindu, and Manorama News channel are the places where we went for our internships.

Infrastructure: Assumption College got a good amount of books and guides in the library. The library in this college was huge and has it was a separate building. It had an internet connection and ID cards were scanned before entering the library. All the books were fed into a computer for easy access. The classrooms had ample spaces with proper lighting and fans. They had all labs from Zoology, Physics to English. Language labs were well-maintained and the auditorium was also huge. The college had a store for buying essential items and also had one big canteen with all kinds of goods available. It also had a small store near the library and near the auditorium. The food provided in the hostel was also good. The hostel and rooms were neat and clean.

Faculty: The teachers well versed with their knowledge in the subject they teach. They give information from the syllabus and also additional information for qualifying competitive exams. The curriculum is designed to get the basic idea of the three course along with internship. Exams are little difficult but with proper resources from library and class notes students can pass the exam. The pass percent is fairly good.

Other: The good side of this course is that students will get an idea about English literature, journalism, and business. This course had different subject knowledge and students can choose what interests them. The course can bring a more hands-on approach than learning in classes is what needs to be improved. The campus surrounding was positive. The fests and events were all well-coordinated with students participating from different colleges. Assumption College is well known for its success in sports.
