Q:   Is B.Sc. at B.D. College worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

    Infrastructure and Facilities:

    * Limited infrastructure, including lack of Wi-Fi, poorly maintained labs, and small library.
    * Good classrooms, library, and canteen, but these amenities may vary depending on the department.
    * No hostel facilities available.

    Teaching Quality:

    * Teachers are generally highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, but some may not be enthusiastic about teaching.
    * Teaching style can be inconsistent, with professors often assigning homework without explaining the topics.
    * Course curriculum may not prepare students for the industry directly, but provides a solid foundation for further learning.

    Placement and Internship Opportunities:

    * Placement opportunities are limited, and most students opt for higher studies or other competitive exams.
    * Around 65% of students from this course get placed, with average salaries ranging from INR5,000 to INR25,000 per month.
    * Some students secure internships, especially in fields related to Science and technology.

    Other Concerns:

    * Class schedules can be irregular, making it challenging for students to manage their academic workload.
    * Limited extracurricular activities and sports facilities.
    * Poor maintenance and upkeep of some facilities.

In conclusion, while B.D. College offers some positive aspects, such as supportive teachers and decent infrastructure, its limitations in terms of Wi-Fi, laboratory resources, and placement opportunities might deter some students from considering this institution for their undergraduate degree. Ultimately, it depends on individual priorities and expectations.

Course Curriculum for B.Sc. at B.D. College

From the reviews and statements provided by students and alumni, here's what can be summarized about the course curriculum:

    * Mathematics: The course includes a significant amount of mathematics, making it suitable for those who enjoy and excel in the subject.
    * Relevance: The curriculum is considered relevant and prepares students for real-world applications, according to many reviewers.
    * Knowledge-based learning: The focus seems to be on providing in-depth knowledge, which is essential for building a strong foundation in the field of science.

However, some students mentioned that the course does not necessarily prepare students to become "industry-ready" or directly lead to placements. Others noted that the lack of regular classes and lab experiences could hinder the overall learning experience.

It is essential to note that these observations might vary depending on individual experiences and perspectives. Overall, while the course curriculum may not guarantee direct placements, it appears to provide a solid educational foundation for future pursuits in the scientific fields.

Good college for pursuing degree with best faculty.
Placements: Approximately 30% of students from my faculty were placed. The highest package offered was 4.8 LPA and the lowest was 2.6 LPA. 40% of students from my course got internships in different companies, including Hindustan Unilever.
Infrastructure: The college has good facilities for the library, labs, and modern classrooms with digital boards and projectors. The infrastructure of the college is very good, and the campus is always clean. There is good Wi-Fi coverage, and the toilets and washrooms are very neat and clean.
Faculty: The faculty are very knowledgeable and experienced in their subject. The course curriculum was very relevant and satisfied. The semester exams were a bit difficult and the college conducted them very strictly. The pass percentage of students was 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to do research in the field of chemistry. I plan to do an M.Sc. in this course to further my knowledge. The college conducts events every year and provides scholarships to students.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the bad teaching system at the college.
Placements: In this college, we had no placements. This college has no placement system. Just study and get passed or fail; that doesn't matter; they will not provide any placement. If you pass the examination, go and find a job yourself. They are not going to provide any placements.
Infrastructure: There is no wi-fi in the college. Labs are just for names only; they don't have proper equipment. Many of the desks and benches in the classroom are in broken condition. The library is also so small. They don't have many books there. They don't have any ground. Welfare facilities are also not up to par.
Faculty: They did not teach properly at the college. We studied from our coaching institutes and guess papers. Professors just come and give us a paper on which they have written notes and tell us to either copy in the notebook or take a picture on the phone. And once we are done with this, they leave. They don't explain the topic.
Other: I chose this course because I am good at physics. But I learned nothing from this college. And the coaching institute also did not teach well. As a result, I became very weak in physics and mathematics.

    Satisfaction by the College.
Placements: If you want placement, you have to be skillful; then only it is possible. You have to be the topper of the college. You should have outstanding knowledge of that course, and it also depends on the course. Companies visit the campus for placement and give an average salary.
Infrastructure: It's good. They have a central library and Wi-Fi on campus. They are very corporate in student work. All the faculty is good. The canteen is well maintained. They have a sports ground. Hostel is not provided by the college, but there are many options near the college area.
Faculty: They take regular exams at the right time. The course will be completed in the given course time. Faculty are good, knowledgeable, and helpful. Practical classes are held in the college. You will get more opportunities in the college. You can have many other courses at the same time, like a Diploma course.
Other: Events and fests are held in the year, and organized programs on festivals. Fresher events are held on campus, and farewells too. Extracurricular activities like sports day are also held.

It is the 4th best government college in Patna.
Placements: This college is a state government college and affiliated with Patliputra University, previously affiliated with Magadh University. Generally, it offers regular and vocational graduate courses in B.A., B.Com and B.Sc. They do not provide hostels and placement facilities. Students and student leaders work together to find an alternate solution and go through walk-in interviews or off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: The college has a well-maintained library, labs, classrooms, canteen, and a new auditorium, but there is no Wi-Fi or internet facility. The college building is equipped with a working lift for students and teachers to use. Overall, the infrastructure is improving day by day. Hostel facilities are not available due to the small campus area and congested location.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable and very helpful. However, not all teachers are interested in teaching, and a few of them are very rude. Students have to work harder than other college students because the college faculty do not measure students' growth, and the course curriculum provided here is not enough for students to get industry-ready.
Other: Admissions in this college are provided through the merit in the previous qualifying exam. Classes are conducted on time, but the quality is average. Students are dependent on coaching classes to do better in exams. Students can do a full-time job along with their course. This is an advantage here.

I am not satisfied with the college. No facilities are provided and placements too.
Placements: I don't think there are any placement here. Anyway I am a student of botany honours. So I don't know about other courses placement. You will not get any placement in this course by B. D college. But in the some vocational courses like MBA, it provided good placements.
Infrastructure: Some facilities are available like labs, libraries, sport & games, but they rarely used. I wonder there are sports facilities here/not, but here lab, classes and library are too good. I think only three those facility are good. Convenience is not available.
Faculty: I don't think here teaching style is good. If you really want to take admission in this college for study then my advice is to please don't take admission. Because firstly here, routine of classes is very complicated. Only one class a day is held here and classes start in March and exams will start in April. So, much classes don't held in a semester. So if you are serious for studies, then don't take admission in this college.
Other: Firstly here, classroom schedule is so bad. I think firstly change this schedule. The college and the departments are very irresponsible for her student. They don't care whether the student's syllabus is completed or not. There is no shortage of looters here. The staff doesn't leave a chance to rob student. So be aware.

The college is for a normal B.Sc course.
Placements: None of the students got placed as our college doesn't have any placement cell. Many of the students opted for higher studies or for other general exams. Our B.Sc course gave me an opportunity in the education sector as well as in engineering. Companies did not visit our college as there is not much outside interaction between our college and companies.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi, and the college labs are always closed. Classrooms are good, and the library is better than the infrastructure of our college. There is no hostel. The canteen is not available in our college, but there are many stores outside for daily needs near the college. The college has a first-aid kit, which is used when needed, but sports and games are not available.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, and most of them are PhD holders. They help students in any way they can. Classes are not regular, but they are pretty good. The curriculum is up to the mark for nowadays needs. It can't make students industry-ready, but it helps to gain knowledge which is a must.
Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to pursue theoretical physics being a profession. The best thing about this course is it makes you aware of how everything we do in physics. Regular classes and lab experience would make the course better as the college lacks in both. There is a scholarship for reservations as well as girls. Normal events like independence day, college foundation day, teacher's day, etc., occur here. The area is not good as there is a dumping site near the college, and it is quite difficult to find the college as it is located in a remote area of the city.
