PGDM in Retail Management - Batch of 2025

A perfect mix of Fun, Learning and Growth!
Placements: Currently, the placement process for our batch is ongoing, with over 40% of students placed by the mid of the 5th trimester. However, it is worth noting that in the previous year, 100% of the students were successfully placed by the end of the course, reflecting the program's robust placement support. Top recruiting companies include ABFRL, EY, Uniqlo, Landmark Group, Infosys, Panasonic, Bata, RBL Bank, Under Armour, and many more, offering diverse and promising career opportunities. Additionally, internships have consistently seen a 100% placement rate, with students securing roles in renowned companies like Tata Trent (Zudio), Home Centre, The Collective, Under Armour, Reliance Smart, and many more.
Infrastructure: BIMTECH provides modern classrooms with smart boards, projectors, and Wi-Fi for a seamless learning experience. The library is well-equipped with relevant books, journals, and e-resources like EBSCO. Hostels are spacious, clean, and Wi-Fi-enabled, while the mess serves hygienic and diverse meals. A well-stocked canteen and dedicated medical facilities add to student comfort. Sports infrastructure, including gyms and courts, promotes a balanced lifestyle.
Faculty: The faculty at BIMTECH is highly qualified, approachable, and experienced, ensuring students grasp key concepts through real-world examples and case studies. The teaching quality is exceptional, with a focus on practical applications that prepare students for the industry. The course curriculum is aligned well with industry standards. The inclusion of internships, live projects, and guest lectures ensures that students are industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course for its industry-focused curriculum and hands-on learning through on-the-job training and internships with leading companies. The best aspects of the course include its practical exposure, guest lectures by industry experts, and strong placement support. While the program excels in preparing students for the retail sector, incorporating more global exposure and advanced technologies like AI in the sector would be beneficial. The vibrant campus life, diverse events, and well-connected surroundings make BIMTECH an enriching place to study.

Good placements but average hostel.
Placements: BIMTECH (Birla Institute of Management Technology) offers a highly reputed MBA programme with exceptional placement results. For our passing out batch, the college achieved an impressive 98% placement rate, reflection its strong industry connections and robust career services. The highest salary package offered to a student in our batch was an outstanding 26 LPA, showcasing the excellent opportunities provided to top performers. The average salary package stood at 11.1 LPA, offering a solid return on investment for all students. The lowest package was still competitive, ensuring that every graduate had the opportunity to start their professional journey with a well-paying role. Top recruiting companies for our batch included industry leaders such as KPMG, Marsh, Oxen, and Outlook, which demonstrates the diversity and caliber of organizations that trust BIMTECH to provide skilled professionals. These companies hire students across various domains, highlighting the versatility of our MBA programme. Additional, 100% of students secured internships with prestigious companies like KPMG, Marsh, Oxen, and Outlook. These internships offered invaluable hands-on experience, enhancing our skills and preparing us for full-time roles. Top roles offered to our batch included Consultant, Senior Manager, Operations, Product Manager, Senior Accountant, Sales Manager, and Financial Advisory, with students successfully transitioning into these high-responsibility positions. In conclusion, BIMTECH's MBA programme equips students with the necessary skills and industry exposure, ensuring an excellent start to their careers. The placement Statistics and the diversity of roles reflect the quality of education provided at BIMTECH.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at BIMTECH for the MBA course is robust and designed to foster a productive learning environment. The campus is equipped with modern classrooms that have projectors, sound systems, and comfortable seating arrangements. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, ensuring students can stay connected and access online resources. The computer labs are well-equipped with the latest software and technologies to support hands-on learning. Additional, the library offers a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources, providing ample material for academic research and study. However, the hostel facilities fall short of expectations. The hostel is located about 3 km away from the main campus, and while there are bus services, they are often sufficient, leading to convenience for students computing between the hostel and campus. Furthermore, students are restricted from going out after 7:30 pm, which limits personal freedom. The rooms in the hostel are shared by two people, but they are quite small and do not provide much space. The bathrooms are shared among a cluster of 14 students, which can lead to issues of cleanliness and privacy. The food quality in the hostel mess and canteen is decent but lacks variety. While it is nutritious, it can sometimes feel monotonous. The medical facilities on campus are basic and cater to minor health concerns. The college also provides sports and recreational facilities, encouraging students to stay active and engaged. Despite the good campus infrastructure, the hostel experience could be improved for a more comfortable stay.
Faculty: The faculty at BIMTECH is highly qualified, experienced, and deeply committed to the students' academic growth. The professors are not only knowledgeable in their respective fields but also very approachable and helpful. They encourage interactive learning, often supplementing theoretical lessons with practical insights drawn from their own industry experiences. This approach enhances the quality of teaching and helps students understand real-world applications of what they learn in class. The curriculum for the MBA programme at BIMTECH is very relevant and contemporary. It is regularly updated to reflect the latest trends and demands in the business world. The course covers a wide range of subjects that provide a strong foundation in business management while also allowing students to specialize in areas like marketing, finance, operations, and HR. This comprehensive curriculum is designed to make students industry-ready, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the corporate world. The semester exams are designed to challenge students and assess their in-depth understanding of the subject matter. They are rigorous but fair, ensuring that only those with a solid grasp of the material pass. The exams test both theoretical knowledge and practical application, which prepares students for real-world business challenges. BIMTECH maintains a high pass percentage, reflection the hard work and dedication of both students and faculty. The assessment system encourages continuous learning and helps students stay on track throughout the course.
Other: I chose the MBA course at BIMTECH because I wanted to build a strong foundation in business management and develop a diverse skill set that would help me excel in the corporate world. The course offers a broad spectrum of subjects, allowing students to specialize in different areas like finance, marketing, operations, and HR. The exposure to multiple domains of management, along with industry-relevant projects, provides a comprehensive learning experience. The best things about the course are the knowledgeable faculty, who bring real-world experiences into the classroom, and the industry-focused curriculum that prepares students to be job-ready. The practical exposure through internships and case studies helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. The placement assistance is commendable, with many students securing roles in top companies. However, there are areas for improvement. The hostel facilities could be more comfortable and closer to the campus. The infrastructure, especially for the hostel, is not as modern as the main campus, which can be convenient for students who live there. Additional, the limited access to the campus after 7:30 pm feels restrictive for students. BIMTECH organizes various events and fests that allow students to showcase their talents and network with industry professionals. The campus crowd is vibrant, with a mix of students from diverse backgrounds, which adds to the learning experience. The campus is well-connected with public transport, though the commute to the hostel could be better. Scholarships are available for deserving students, and extracurricular activities are encouraged, providing a well-rounded college experience.

Reality check of B-School: BIMTECH.
Placements: Of the 350–400 students, 30 are yet to be placed in the 2022–24 batch. The highest package is 22 lacs, the lowest is 6 lacs, and the average is 11 lacs. You will find a lot of insurance companies hiring students. The highest package the students got was from Blackrock, and the company that took the maximum number of students was Digit.
Infrastructure: Compared with other top B-schools, the infrastructure is not the best. There are a lot of unnecessary restrictions on the campus and hostel. They have LAN cables in the hostel. You have to reach the campus by 7:30 p.m., which does not make sense in 2024. Canteen timing is until 11 pm only. The boys hostel is 2 km away from the campus and the canteen in the hostel has limited food items. Food quality compared with top schools is better but you won't find non-vegetarian foods. The medical staff is not good. And limited facilities for sports and games.
Faculty: The curriculum at BIMTECH is average. But the faculty is excellent and helps the students when required. All the courses have great faculty with good qualifications. The director just got changed and everyone has high hopes for the new director. The curriculum can be improved. The whole management has changed, which can lead to significant improvement.
Other: The huge batch size makes it difficult for all the students to get placed. A lot of things can be improved on the campus, starting with the culture and mindset of the faculty and top-level management. They are living in a traditional world, which is not good for the growth of the students.

One of the best B-schools in North India.
Placements: The placements here at BIMTECH are really good. While I'm still in my first year, our super seniors of the Retail Management programme have had 100% placement and our seniors as well are getting good placements. The average package is around 10 Lacs and the median also stands at around the same point.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good in BIMTECH. The academic block has classrooms with smart boards and an environment conducive to learning. The library has a huge resource of books for its students with great ambiance to learn. The campus also has three hostels in it, all with great facilities. Out and out, BIMTECH has great infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty at BIMTECH is very well-qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful too. The curriculum as well is up-to-date and relevant to the field of study. This combination of great faculty, along with a very well-structured curriculum, makes learning so good here.
