    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is it worth pursuing B.E./B.Tech at Carmel College of Engineering and Technology, Alappuzha?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here are the key points to consider:

    Infrastructure and Facilities

    * Decent infrastructure, with separate hostels for boys and girls
    * Good library with a wide range of books and Wi-Fi connectivity (although limited to staff)
    * Laboratories are well-maintained, with modern equipment
    * Cleanliness and maintenance could be improved

    Teaching and Curriculum

    * Helpful and knowledgeable faculty members
    * Course curriculum is relevant and aligned with the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University's standards
    * Emphasis on practical skills, with regular lab sessions and projects

    Placement Opportunities

    * Placements are average, with around 50-70% of students getting placed
    * Top recruiters include IBM, TCS, INFOSYS, BYJU'S, and LINWAYS
    * Placement packages vary, ranging from INR5 Lacs per annum to higher amounts
    * Core companies tend to visit fewer times, and placements may be harder for non-CSE branches

However, prospective students should also weigh the pros and cons carefully, considering factors such as placement opportunities, internship availability, and career prospects post-graduation.

Review of Carmel College of Engineering And Technology, Alappuzha.
Placements: The placement process in our college is in the beginning stages. The highest package is 13 Lacs per annum and the lowest package is 3.5 Lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, etc. Almost more than 50 percent of the students get placed each year.
Infrastructure: The college facilities are much better, as the students are able to study in a calm and peaceful environment without being distracted by any other means. The lab facilities and the Wi-Fi facilities are excellent. The canteen is the place where students find themselves more interested in different engaging activities.
Faculty: The teachers or the faculty members are very efficient and are very engaging in their respective works and the students are also satisfied with the college. The semesters in the college curriculum are difficult due to the widespread COVID disease, which resulted in a delay of about five months in starting the curriculum.

The campus life at the college is what it is to be lived.
Placements: Placements are highly offered here and it is one of the attractive features. Many companies like TCS recruit every year and hire many students from every department and compared to other departments, the Computer Science department has the highest percentage of placement.
Infrastructure: The college offers hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. It has a library that consists of a large number of books. There is an auditorium where various college activities are organised. Healthy and delicious meals are provided to the students and faculty members by the college canteen.
Faculty: The faculty provides good-quality teaching. They are very helpful and supportive and help us to complete the overall syllabus. They always encourage us to fulfil our dreams. They conduct exams before the university exams that help us to study well. They also provide proper study materials to prepare for the exams.
Other: There is very much room for improvement of our social skills, various clubs that are highly active in the college and conduct programs often.

    Honest review about Carmel College.
Placements: Some students who got a CGPA above 9 are placed. Comparatively, placements in this college are very few, and if there is a placement, it is for low-paid jobs. Only less than 10 percent of students got good placements, while others will have to work for it. Most of the students had to go to paid internships to meet course requirements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is decent but not enough. The Wi-Fi is there but only for staff. In a classroom, there is an average of 60 students. Library facilities are decent as there are enough books for study purposes. The hostels are very strict as you have to enter before 6 PM, there are limitations on phone usage, and the hostel mess is not that good.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and have adequate knowledge in their subjects. They maintain a good relationship with the students. But the HOD of the department is not approachable. Semester exams are quite hard as you have to work very hard to pass the exams.
Other: I chose this course because it was the nearest available with low fees and I got a scholarship.

    Satisfied because of faculty members.
Placements: Overall placements are average. About half of students were placed in MNCs. Infosys is one of the top recruiting company among them. The lowest package offered is5 Lacs an year. About 80% of students got internship in technopark. Roles offerrd are discipline, learn how to work in an environment.
Infrastructure: Library has Wi-Fi connection and students get all types of study materials from the library. Classrooms are well managed and digitalized. Labs are well maintained. Overall good infrastructure with good facilities. Tgere is seperate hostels for boys and girls.
Faculty: Well teaching sraff most of the teachers were Ph.D. holders. It makes students ready to work industry but student hot only less practical knowledge. 2 internal exsms are conducted in a sem and an end semester is also conducted. Pass percentage is hslf of total marks.

A developing college that has room to improve.
Placements: A good percentage of students get placed, especially if you are studying computer Science and engineering but you got to excel in your field. For other branch students, placement is hard. You can go for internships only if the college agrees. Companies like IBM, Wipro, Byjus, etc. hire students.
Infrastructure: The hostel and college infrastructure are good. There is Wi-Fi in the college and hostel. Library is aesthetic with important books. There is a sports ground in front. The engineering college block might seem a bit displeasing to the eyes as it has less space so things are cramped in.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and teaches good. They would clear doubts anytime. The course curriculum is very relevant as the college is under KTU. Semester exams are not hard if you work for it. It is only understandable. A good percentage of students passed. You don't have to study 24/7 as the teachers help a lot with the important topics.
Other: Events and fests are less. You would get an aesthetic feeling in the campus. Extracurricular activities are less compared to other colleges. Computer Science and engineering is the best course to study here.

Good college if you are looking for academics.
Placements: The college does not provide many placement opportunities as of now. Well, courses like civil and mechanical engineering have been NBA-accredited. So maybe in the coming years there will be more placement opportunities for non-computer science departments.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are altogether good. The faculty members are very much to their advantage. Classrooms are good and have a library. The labs were good. Provide almost all types of equipment. And there are faculty members who are well aware of lab procedures. The hostel facility is not so bad.
Faculty: To match the curriculum, I suggest it is one of the best options available. Faculty members were good. All the exams have been conducted based on KTU rules. And the pass percentage is comparatively higher. In terms of academics, the college has a reputation. Students are more or less industry-related.
