B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2023
3.6

Satisfied students, good teachers, and politics on campus is an advantage. Placements are not good.
Placements: In our department (2023), only 8 students got placement out of 60.
INR 2.4 LPA to INR 7 LPA are the salary packages of those 8 students. Companies include Soti, TCS, Experion, etc. The top roles offered are those of software engineers.
Mechanical department students got internships at Ashok Leyland Company.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fine. Boys hostels have good cooks, but meals in ladies hostels are not as good as those in boys hostels. In the computer department, we have access to Wi-Fi. The library is very good at this college. have a lot of books for engineers and a lot of space to sit.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful; they are well educated M.Tech. graduates.
The quality of teaching is good. Only one or two teachers classes are of low quality. Semester exams are conducted by KTU University. This university is an expert at making money from students. Revaluation fund refunds are difficult. But now they are doing well. The revaluation fund is 630, and the supplementary exam fee is INR 210 for each subject.
Other: I took this course because of my dream job, so I made a better decision. The college events are the best.

Absolutely satisfiable, but dissatisfied from college heads such as AO and Principal.
Placements: Majority of students with less backlogs have been placed from here. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Pits, Wipro, etc. Placement cell chooses students with less backlogs. Placement cell provides trainings for placements. CSE and ECE departments gets more placements than other branches.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi for students. Average Labs. Good classrooms. Good Library. Bad hostel (both men's hostel and ladies hostel). Hostel has more connection with drugs and other irrelevant items. Hostel security and warden are not much sincere. Majority of students trying to leave hostel because of drugs.
Faculty: Majority of teachers are highly sincere and helpful. Some are unsatisfiable. Teaching faculty members are majority helpful but some of office staffs and AO and Principal are not much satisfiable. Principal knows the drug issues ongoing on hostel and campus but still he is silent to cover college reputation.
Other: It is my own decision to chose B.Tech CSE.

Disappointed with the placement opportunities available and the hostel mess.
Placements: The placement cell at my college provides placements for the majority of students. However, the package is only around 2 Lacks Per Annum, which is not a great package for a software job. The basic reason for the poor placement is that the curriculum does not meet the needs of the industry.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is just fine. There are four computer labs that are open to students at all times for practicing what they have learned. The men's hostel is okay and provides decent facilities, such as rooms that accommodate up to three people. However, the food in the mess hall is not that great.
Faculty: Some of the faculty are not very supportive of developing the soft skills required for working in the industry. However, some are really encouraging in developing those skills that are required for getting placed in the industry. The curriculum is not that great for getting a job. It's stuffed with theories with no evaluation of the student's skill in the subject. It's just evaluating the student's memory capacity.
Other: The college hosts a variety of arts and cultural programs. Some of these programs include the tech fest, union day, and other special events.

I am satisfied because of the faculty, and good placements.
Placements: Almost 40% of the students were placed who were studying in my batch. The highest package offer was 4.5Lpa and the lowest 2.5LPA. Different companies where their CS field has more placement due to that. Different students from different courses got placement according to their stream.
Infrastructure: There were different types of facilities available in the college during my college life there is Wi-Fi, labs well-equipped. There is also a library for references regarding the subjects and also different types of magazines. The hostel was good and provided good food and accommodation at a feasible rate all facilities were there like sports, canteen, games, etc.
Faculty: All the facilities are well educated and qualified and we're having good experience in teaching and we'll knowledge also. Semester exams were not that much tough but if we study then we can easily earn good marks and a good percentage CGPA etc. The pass percentage is 45%.
Other: I choose this course because it was one of my dreams to become a mechanical engineer and all. There is nothing there to improve regarding the course because all the things are enough to study. Different types of programs are conducted in college late-night DJ tech fests etc. All can enjoy their campus life.

It provides good infrastructure and placements.
Placements: Almost every student who complete the degree are placed. Tata and Infosys are the top recruiting companies. Almost every student are getting internships. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: It provides high-quality 5G Wi-Fi, laboratories, and computers are provided by this college. It is the best option to stay in a hostel with good food. The canteen is available at affordable rates. Hospital is near to this college. Badminton court, football court, cricket nets, and table tennis are also available in this college.
Faculty: There are highly professional teachers with good knowledge and teaching. The course curriculum is tough, and the exams are also hard, but it makes the students industry-ready. The overall pass percentage is 60%. The students who are passed out from this college will get a job.
Other: I chose this course to improve my knowledge in the IT industry and it helped me though. The latest technology must be included in the syllabus at least once in two years. Art fests, tech fests, sports, and every other activity are there in this college. Scholarships are provided by the government.

My college: College of Engineering and Management, Punnapra.
Placements: Placements are not very great in our college. Students are mostly placed with a salary package of about 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Most of the students get placements even though with small packages. In one way, it is better to get a job and have a basic income than to be unemployed. So in that perspective, it is better.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college for the computer science department has enough labs and facilities. Now talking about hostel facilities, it is not that great but have decent stay facilities. The mess is not that great. The food quality is not very good.
Faculty: Talking about faculty members, they are well-educated and have good knowledge about concepts. But some are not very interested in teaching while others are very interested in teaching. The curriculum prescribed by KTU is being followed but it's not that great thing that we should learn things that are beyond the requirements. The things required are not that learned advanced. About exams, the pass percentage is not very great. More than 50% of students pass semester examinations on the first attempt.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion for computer science. I wanted to explore more in this field, and as a result, I chose this course. If the course is much more focused on skill sets and helps candidates to develop industry-level skills it would be better. Talking about events and all, the college union and the department host various events to encourage the creativity and skill sets in students.
