No, there is no such provision to get direct admission in any of the UG, PG, or doctoral courses. COEP Technological University (formerly known as COEP) admissions are strictly based on merit only. Therefore, only those candidates who have valid scores/ rank of MHT-CET, GATE, JEE-Main, among others can apply for any of the courses provided by the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). Hence, the interested candidates need to take these entrance exams according to their choice of course in which they want to enroll.
The College of Engineering Pune enroll candidates in its BTech course mainly through MHT-CET and JEE-Main. Registration for MHT-CET usually starts in the month of March and it concludes in April.
The second most popular course of VJTI is M.Tech and the candidates willing to take admission in MCA should register GATE exam. Students should prepare well for the said entrance exams to secure good scores/ rank.
There are many other UG, PG, diploma, and doctoral courses provided by the COEP under various specialisations. For further queries regarding eligibility for other courses, candidates can refer to coep official website.
COEP Technological University (Formerly known as COEP) mainly intake admission through MHT-CET. The eligibility criteria laid down by MHT-CET for BTech is that the candidate should have passed class 12 or SSC or Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 45% aggregate.
COEP also inducts students through JEE-Main, for which additionally 25% of seats are reserved for All India Candidates (apart from Maharashtra domicile candidates), and there is no minimum percentage in class 12 required to take the JEE-Main entrance exam.

COEP Pune offers a two-year full-time PG course of MTech. Yes, M.Tech is available in COEP. College of Engineering Pune (COEP) offers a two-year full-time PG course of MTech. Admission at College of Engineering Pune MBA is completely based on merit scores obtained by the candidates in GATE exam followed by a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

- UG degree in the respective discipline
- Those who are studying in the third or final year of any UG degree are also eligible.
Selection Criteria: GATE + Counselling
There is no such provision to get admission to MTech at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) without having a valid rank/ score in GATE. COEP Technological University (formerly known as COEP) admissions to all courses are strictly based on merit only. Hence, those candidates who do not have a valid score or rank in GATE or MHT-MTech are not eligible for admission to MTech courses of the College of Engineering Pune (COEP).
For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

COEP Pune MBA Admission 2026
COEP Pune offers a two-year full-time MBA course in Business Analytics an General (Finance, Marketing Operations and Human Resource). Aspirants who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate can apply for MBA. The selection for this course is based on MAH MBA CET scores of the candidates.

To get lateral entry into B.Tech CSE at COEP Tech in 2025, you must have completed a Diploma in engineering with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) and studied Maths. To get into COEP for B.Tech, you need to pass 10+2 with PCM and qualify through MHT CET or JEE Main.
The admission process is via Maharashtra CAP counseling.
