COEP REVIEW by students of FY.
Placements: I am in first year, so I don't know much about placements, but according to the seniors I made, they said there are many companies that visit the college, such as Google, Microsoft, John Deere, etc. And there are foreign placements also from our college itself. The highest placement last year or this year was 87 LPA from the Instrumentation branch, and there are many kinds of interesting offers to meet, we need first year itself.
Infrastructure: I don't know about hostels I live in. I am a localised person, so according to my friends, the hostel facilities depend on the mess. If the food is really good, I have also tested it. But the rooms are just decent. There could be a Bed scene in a room, and there are flaws that there are common washrooms for every block, and there are no attached washrooms to the rooms.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified, especially all the teachers are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching qualities are really nice, but there are 1-2 teachers who are not very good in teaching. However, they were knowledgeable. There are two subjects which are not really interesting, which are Biology and Geography. The second one is Energy Liberal Code. The past percentage is almost a hundred percent, but there are 12 students sometimes who fail.
Other: I chose this college because I had a good number in the M.Sc. CT, and I had heard that the college is one of the top colleges in Maharashtra. The procedure for admission to the university is also good, so I liked it much.

B.Tech. in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2025

College offers excellent placements, vibrant campus atmosphere, and significant scope for practical
Placements: I am from the Computer Engineering department, which has excellent placements with over 90% of students placed. The highest salary package offered is 52 LPA. The average salary package offered is 17 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 8 LPA. Top recruiters include D.E. Shaw, Nutanix, Arcesium, Marvell, Wells Fargo, and many more. Many students also secured internships in these leading companies, with top roles offered in software development, system design, and data analytics.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is good, with 24/7 Wi-Fi access and decent mess facilities, though there is room for improvement. Canteen is satisfactory, with food quality rated as good. Sport facilities are excellent, with COEP offering well-maintained infrastructure for various sports activities. Each department has its own building, and a new building for the Computer department is under construction.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and always helpful, providing valuable guidance to students. Teaching quality is excellent, with a focus on practical and industry-relevant knowledge. Course curriculum is similar to that of IITs and is regularly updated to ensure students are industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately challenging but manageable with proper preparation.
Other: I have always been interested in computers and how they work, which inspired me to choose this course. Best aspects of the course are its well-designed curriculum and excellent placements opportunities. But, I feel there should be more emphasis on practical knowledge rather than theoretical learning. College life is vibrant, with a wide range of events, fests, and extracurricular activities that keep the campus lively. Connectivity is excellent, and numerous events make it an exciting place to learn and grow.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty, but placements are good.
Placements: The placements are really good for the computer branch, where about 90% got placed this year with an average package of 16 LPA and the highest around 54 LPA. The top recruiters are Tata Phonepe, etc. The roles offered are like data scientist, analyst, web developer, software developer, etc. The placements are just good enough for computer students only, as the placements for other branches are very low compared to these.
Infrastructure: All the things like Wi-Fi labs, classrooms, and libraries are available for our department, but sometimes the Wi-Fi doesn't even work. The food in our mess is good, i.e., 8/10, and there are also medical facilities available with a big playground available for outdoor games.
Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified, but all the faculty members think they are the best, and there is no competition for them. Also, the semester is not very tough. The teachers now, as the university has become a university, don't have any limits on the syllabus they want to keep, so no extra knowledge is gained by the students.
Other: The events at this college are the best thing you should watch out for.

Its a 2024 placement update.
Placements: For the computer depth, most of the students without any backlogs get placed. Companies offering a variety of roles come during the pre-final year and final year of college. The salary package offered varies from 8 LPA - 52 LPA. Top recruiters are Nutanix and DE Shaw. Some of the other recruiters are AlgoQuant, Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank, Citi Bank, Mastercard, and NPCI. Most of the roles are for software developers.
Infrastructure: Computer department does not have a special building for it, it is under construction. There is a building that has all the labs, but there are no classrooms. They are conducted in the academic complex. The rest of the infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi on the campus is not good. Library of the department and college is excellent. Separate membership should be applied for both libraries.
Faculty: Most teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Some of them don't have enough knowledge of their field and just teach anything. The teaching quality is okay. We need to study from YouTube for many courses. Course curriculum is quite relevant. Some of the courses, like SEMP, make students industry-ready. College examinations are not that difficult.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Review of College of Engineering, Pune.
Placements: Top recruiters for the Electrical department are Texas Instruments, Caterpillar Inc., Reliance Industries, Tata, and ITC. The top roles offered in the course are field engineer, facility engineer, research engineer, associate engineer, and analog engineer. Till the end of November for the final year, almost 60% of students got placed.
Infrastructure: College campus is very aesthetically pleasing and labs are equipped with the latest technologies. Wi-Fi in the classroom and labs is good but in the rest of the campus it is quite disappointing. College library is equipped with a huge variety of books and the electrical department has its own separate library as well. The quality of the food served in boys' mess is very good. The food at canteen is decent.
Faculty: Semester exams are in the range of medium to difficult. Passing marks are usually around 35 out of 100 and there is a relatively grading scheme for most subjects. From 2024, exams will be shifted to the scheme of mid-sem and end-sem from the earlier t1 t2, and end-sem. Course curriculum is focused on core electrical fundamentals and also includes good fundamentals in the fields of machine learning. Teachers are very knowledgeable.
Other: The course can include more field visits. I chose this course because of my interest in the field of Electrical Engineering. I should have focused more on the grades because that is an important factor in placements.

Placements are good & infrastructure of college is okay.
Placements: In ENTC in 2024, above 80 percent are placed, and placements are still going. The average is about 13 LPA. I don't have an idea about the lowest. The highest is 28.42 LPA in ENTC. The highest package overall is in manufacturing, at 87 LPA. Many companies come here.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but Wi-Fi speed is slow. The library and classrooms are okay. Hostels are not good; the infrastructure needs to be updated. The mess and canteen are average. For sports, they have a ground. Medical facilities are available. Wi-Fi and LAN in the hostel work sometimes but not always. Bathrooms are okay; cleaning happens daily. A water cooler is present.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, but the quality of teaching is average. Semester exams are average level. You can pass; if you don't, you can take a re-exam. The curriculum is pretty much relevant to the course. I don't have an idea if it makes us industry-ready, as I am in the first year.

To secure admission to COEP, focus on entrance exams like MHT-CET or JEE Mains, as board marks only determine eligibility. You need at least 45% (General) or 40% (Reserved) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in your 12th boards. For MHT-CET, aim for a 99+ percentile (145+ marks) for top branches
