Good infrastructure, good faculty, good campus, bad placements and bad crowd.
Placements: Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry.
Infrastructure: The college and university buildings are nice, with good architecture. Machines and equipment work fine, but they're old. Hostels need repair, but they are nice altogether. You will not face any problems in the hostel. It’s a government college, so please don’t keep too many expectations for infrastructure facilities.
Faculty: Faculty is experienced and good. They know their fields well, and their academic performances verify it. It differs with different branches, but overall, there are senior teachers mostly who are generally good to interact with. For the curriculum, it mostly matches the curriculum of other colleges or as approved by AICTE. There are also open and departmental electives. Overall, the curriculum is good, matching with your competitive exams. Exams are taken very seriously here. There is strict UMC (from 1 year back) in case someone is caught with chits and devices. Exams are not too hard and are relatively easier than at other colleges. You will not have problems passing your course if you study enough.
Other: This college is good for core branches. If you're coming for CS, you're ultimately coming into the rat race because placements are really dry. In the case of core branches, at least there is exposure in the field, and experienced faculty makes it easier. The college crowd is mostly from Punjab, so the crowd isn't that great, and most people are here for time-pass. The college crowd feels boring, with fests having repetitive themes and programs only. There's no variety or enough cultural exchange. Hostel life is, however, great.

Satisfied because of good teaching skills.
Placements: 70% of students, including average students, have been placed in renowned companies with a good salary and in the best positions. The top recruiting companies are Trident, TCS and many more. 100% of students with internships have been placed with the same companies. The roles offered are senior engineers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on campus, in labs, classrooms and also in the library. The hostel also provides Wi-Fi 24 hours a day. Best quality and quantity of food. There is a ragging-free environment. A medical facility is available, as is a dispensary that is open during the day, and a doctor is also available. AIIMS Bathinda is also nearby.
Faculty: Faculty staff are highly qualified with their teaching skills and knowledge. Semester exams are not so difficult, as anyone can get good marks by studying previous papers to gain knowledge of the question paper. Marking can be reliable with teachers.
Other: The best placement facility is there. Most teachers and faculty staff are available in this course ( ECE) .

Great hostel life. Great infrastructure. Changes are needed in placements and management.
Placements: Placements are honestly very poor right now. Only small-scale companies are coming, and there is a severe lack of mass recruiters. Only students with immense skills in their respective fields have chances to get placed.
Infrastructure: The college and university infrastructure is nice, with architecture enriched by Sikhism. The apparatus, machines, and tools in labs are quite old, but they still work. Hostels are also quite good. Students will get their money's worth in the hostel. Although hostels are old, they will receive facilities you deserve. The hostel environment is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-experienced and knowledgeable in their fields. Most of faculty members are senior professors with significant experience. They come from reputed organizations as well. The curriculum is similar to that of most colleges, as approved by AICTE. Exams are conducted strictly here. Sufficient study and knowledge of the subject are enough to pass the course. It is not very difficult to pass the course.
Other: This college had a strong reputation in earlier times. The core branches were well-reputed. The alumni are big names in their industries. The college crowd is mostly local, so it is not great, to be honest. It feels boring and repetitive for all programs and functions here. There is not enough diversity to mention.

Review of Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organisations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If they're a CS student, they will face immense competition. For core branches, placements are severely dry. Students become eligible for placements in the 4th year onwards. Some of the recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika, and a few others. Every company offers jobs to around 10-15 selected students. The highest salary package ever was 15 LPA, and the average salary package was 3.2 LPA. The percentage of students placed is only around 15%.
Infrastructure: The college and university buildings are nice, with good architecture. Machines and equipment work fine, but they're old. Hostels need repair, but they are nice overall. Students will not face any problems in the hostel. The annual fests here are Tarannum and Youth Fest, PTU, held around October and November. The library is vast and full of books. Students can find almost all related books in the library. Sports facilities are good, equipment is readily available, and a sports meet is held yearly. Hostels are good and affordable. Students get what they pay for. In the 1st and 2nd years, you get a triple-sharing room. From the 3rd year onwards, they get your single room. Every room is equipped with a table, chair, cupboards, and a balcony. Any electrical faults are fixed quickly and efficiently. The mess menu is diverse, and you get different items every day of the week.
Faculty: The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:30. Faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable. They know their fields well, and their academic performance reflects this. It varies across different branches, but overall, some senior teachers are generally good to interact with. The curriculum mostly matches that of other colleges or follows the guidelines approved by AICTE. There are also open and departmental electives. Overall, the curriculum is good and aligns with competitive exams.
Other: The per year fee is Rs. 95,000. It includes Rs. 4,000 as examination fees, Rs. 70,000 as tuition fees, and the rest is for student funds, development funds, etc. The one-time registration fee upon admission is Rs. 3,000. Upon admission, students have to pay Rs. 5,000 as security money, which is included in their first semester fees and is refundable upon completion of your course. Additional document charges of Rs. 500 are applicable in the last semester. Some students receive a Tuition Fee Waiver based on their JEE scores, which waives their entire tuition fee. Additionally, the CM Scholarship is available here, which halves the tuition fee. For SC students, they are eligible to apply for the PM scholarship, which covers their entire fee.
