What is HBSAT?

Hyderabad Business School Aptitude Test (HBSAT) is conducted by Hyderabad Business School, GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus. The exam is a gateway for admission to its two-year full-time MBA programme approved by UGC, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

The HBSAT 2020 dates have not been announced yet, however, going by previous year’s trend, the exam is likely to be held in January 2020.

Eligibility Criteria for HBSAT 2020

HBSAT 2020 eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline.
  • Candidates in their final year of their Bachelor's Degree or equivalent can also apply, provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates with valid MAT/GMAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA/NMAT scores are exempted from HBSAT
  • Foreign students and NRI sponsored candidates are also eligible, and are required to take the GMAT at a test centre outside India.

Admission Process: HBSAT 2020

Step 1: Fill in the HBSAT Application form

Aspirants who wish to appear for the exam need to fill HBSAT application form on the official website of Hyderabad Business School, Gitam University. 

The application fee can be paid in the following modes:

  •          Cash (RTGS)
  •          Demand Draft 

Step 2: Download HBSAT 2020 Admit Card

The HBSAT admit card will be issued to the candidates online. To download the admit cards candidates need to visit the official website and enter the registration number and Date of Birth. Candidates must keep in mind that the admit card is an important document that needs to be carried to the exam hall.

Step 3: Appear for HBSAT 2020 exam

The exam is likely to be held in January, 2020 and will be conducted in online mode. The HBSAT 2020 exam will have questions from Data sufficiency, Mathematical Ability, Communication & Business Aptitude, English, and Reasoning. 

Step 4: Check HBSAT 2020 Result

HBSAT result 2020 is expected to be declared within one month from the date of exam. The result will be displayed on the official website. To check the same, candidates need to visit the official website and click on the link reflecting ‘Result’. The result will be display in pdf format. Candidates are advised to take a printout of the same. 

Step 5: Group Discussion & Personal Interview

Test-takers who qualify the exam will be called for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The final selection of students will be done on the basis of the scores obtained in the HBSAT/national level exams, GD & PI. 

Step 6: Counselling

Once the final list of students selected for admission is prepared, a counselling session will be conducted. Candidates must note that it is important to be present in person for the HBSAT counselling.

While GITAM Campus, Hyderabad is a default test centre, if there are at least ten applicants from one of the following areas, GD & PI will be conducted in the below mentioned cities:

Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the HBSAT exam must carry the following documents to get entry inside the exam hall: 

  • Admit card: Candidates appearing for the HBSAT 2020 exam must carry their admit cards to the exam centre. You will not be allowed entry in case you do not carry your HBSAT admit card 
  • Identity Proof: Along with the admit card, candidates are required to carry a photo ID proof such as College ID, employer ID, driving license, passport, PAN card, voter ID, Aadhaar card

 Some items are prohibited inside the exam hall. They include calculator, phone, iPad or any electronic item, bags & purses and eatables, etc.
