Beyond Books, Creating Memories.

Placements: We have quite good numbers in placements. This year, we had the highest package of around 45 Lacs and an average of around 4 to 5 Lacs. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Infosys, TCS, IBM, and many more. Top roles like data analyst, software developer, and many others.

Infrastructure: We have great infrastructure compared to other colleges. There is an option for 4, 3, and 2 B.Ed common sharing and AC rooms, with each room having 2 tube lights, fans, a study light, and one B.Ed light. Meal quality is also nice and hygienic. We have all medical facilities, and all kinds of sports grounds and stadiums are provided.

Faculty: The only reason I chose this course is that CSE is in the rat race, and those who are doing CSE have great packages ahead only of those who have good scores. The examinations are a bit difficult if you don't prepare thoroughly. The subject must be read on the day it is taught.

Placements: About 60-70% of students get placed in my course. The highest package was 40 LPA, the lowest is 2.4 LPA, and the average package is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, TCS. 90% of students got internships from my course in TCS, IBM. Data scientist, tester are top roles offered in my course.

Infrastructure: Fully smart classrooms with Wi-Fi and smart projectors are there, same with labs and library. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. Hostel facilities are also very nice and hygienic food is available in the mess and canteen. Nearby medical facilities such as hospitals are there. Sports and games events are also huge.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. I like their teaching quality. Yes, the course curriculum is very relevant. Yes, it does make the students industry-ready in each field. Semester examinations are moderate in difficulty. Pass percentage is also 95.

Other: I chose this course as it has more advantages and offers more, and I am very interested in this course. The best thing about my course is the girls-to-boys ratio, which is approximately the same. Adding more real-life project experiments rather than written assignments would be better for my course. Lots of events are held every year on campus, and the campus crowd is also very nice. They provide scholarships and many extracurricular activities.

Review of Visakhapatnam Best Deemed University.

Placements: About placements in our college, they are pretty average this year. Due to the recession, very few companies attended, and those that did had an average offer of around 3-4 LPA. The highest offer was around 12 LPA. The percentage of students who got offers was also very low, around 60%. Almost all of the placements for all branches were in technical fields, and in non-technical fields, placements were near to zero. In Gitam, unlike other colleges, we don't get any internship opportunities within the college; we have to apply for them outside the campus, which is a very negative point here.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure in Gitam cannot be faulted; for the fee we pay, the infrastructure is worth it. All the classrooms are well air-conditioned with high-tech facilities for charging laptops, Wi-Fi available all around the campus, and more. The labs are also very well maintained; they don't seem as if they are 30 years old. Equipment in labs gets replaced frequently, leading to new instruments and technology in our labs. However, the hostels are a bit more expensive for what they provide, in my opinion. The variety of food provided in the hostel mess is vast, but the taste of it is not so good. Compared to other universities in the same tier, the mess at Gitam is much better. There are numerous sports facilities at Gitam, ranging from an indoor stadium to an outdoor stadium for cricket, football, and more. From chess to table tennis to cricket, we can play all types of sports here. The medical facility at Gitam is also very good. Just opposite the technical department of the college, there is a dental and MBBS part of the college where they provide free treatment to all the students of Gitam.

Faculty: The faculty and curriculum are way below par considering the fees charged. The teachers here may have many certificates on paper, but it does not reflect in their teaching methods. They often just read out the presentation slides they have prepared. While not all faculty members are like this, most follow a similar pattern. Ultimately, it falls upon the students to self-study for exams. Every student is assigned a mentor for academic assistance, but many mentors seem disengaged, only collecting signatures every six months without providing much support. The curriculum also seems subpar compared to other universities of the same tier; it appears tailored to ensure students pass rather than fostering deep understanding. Internal assessments are worth 70 marks, meaning a student can pass by scoring just 35 marks. Semester exams, worth 30 marks each, are not very challenging, often featuring repeated questions from previous semesters. The pass percentage is also very high.

Other: I chose this college simply because of its location; it is near to my home, and it is not a bad college. If we have the zeal to study, it is a good choice as we get all necessary things to study here. The library here is top-notch, as are the classrooms and everything else. Fests here are also very good; something or the other happens every other week. The crowd here is also very diverse, ranging from local to international exchange students, giving us exposure to a lot of people.

Really happy to be in GITAM.

Placements: The highest package is 46.50 LPA. Total recruiters: Over 530, total offers: Over 3,500, and total multiple offers: Over 960. Several renowned companies actively participated in the placement drive. GITAM Visakhapatnam's top recruiters are Cognizant, Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, Amazon, and HCL, among others.

Infrastructure: The environment is so comfortable. The faculty members and the course department are very much available at any time to clear our doubts. The hostels have 24/7 AC, and the food also tastes good. Not only hostellers, but day scholars can also have their meals in the mess by paying a certain amount.

Faculty: The teaching was amazing. All the faculty members give their best. The semester examinations were difficult only for those who prepare thoroughly. The marks were divided into 70 marks for internals and 30 marks for externals. The CGPA was graded by relative grading.

Other: The reason why I chose CSE is because it's the software that will be ruling the country ahead. The only problem is C+ is being taught in GITAM.

Overall pleasant experience in university life, washrooms are well maintained with drinking water.

Placements: To be honest, a very small number of students got placements in the cybersecurity field. The highest package from the cybersecurity course that I heard about was 18 lakhs per annum, and he got placed in Deloitte by his own efforts. He was the founder of Cysec (cybersecurity club). Top roles offered were security analyst and pentester.

Infrastructure: Since I am a day scholar, I don't have much experience with the hostel, but the infrastructure and facilities provided are awesome. Wi-Fi is quite good with strong strength. Almost every class is digitalized with a good projector and air-conditioning. If we talk about sports and games, they have all the options to play, including e-sports!

Faculty: Every faculty has their own style of teaching. Sometimes students might feel challenged with the professor's language, but most of the faculty are quite supportive and helpful. The course might make the students feel overwhelmed as the original subjects (mainly for cyber-related subjects) might start from the 3rd year of the graduation. Semester exams are not that difficult. If we are well-versed with the concept, we can crack the semester. The passing percentage might differ for every subject. For one subject, it's 28, for another it's 35, and so on.

Other: Since the university is so huge, there are so many events and fests that actually go on, but definitely, it's worth enjoying! For the B.Tech CSE branch, almost the subjects are similar for every specialization. Original subjects start from the 3rd year. The campus is actually quite impressive!

Here is a personal experience and a tip for students.

Placements: About 60% of students from my batch were placed. The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA, the average salary package offered was 5 LPA. And the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies during the recession period included TCS, Deloitte, and Accenture. Students were given the choice of a free virtual internship via Eduskills or a paid offline or online internship through Phoenix Global, Hyderabad. An online internship costs around Rs. 5,000, while the online option is approximately half the price. System Engineer and Web Developer roles were the most sought out for.

Infrastructure: We had Wi-Fi at the college, and lectures were mostly taught via presentations. There is a cricket stadium, as well as a cricket-cum-basketball ground. College also has an indoor stadium called Kodi Drama Stadium, which includes areas for table tennis, carrom, and chess. Additionally, there is an outdoor tennis net and an indoor badminton area.

Faculty: Presentations, PDFs, Word documents, and notes were provided on online portals via Learn. Our batch started with Python as the programming language, but C has been deemed more relevant for beginners. This is how the courses are taught for the 2021 batch onwards. Semester exams are generally easy to difficult unless the course is something like AI, where the questions can be tricky or asked directly.

Other: CSE is also crucial, as coding is important in every field of work now. I suggest having a clear goal simply put, want to become a data analyst or work in the data domain, student should choose CSE with a Data Science specialization. Alternatively, in core CSE, choose subjects like Data Mining and Emerging Technologies as part of your electives, since other subjects, like Entrepreneurship, might not help. Subjects like ML, ADSML, and NNDL should be taken throughout entire 4 years, semester-wise. Enjoy as many events at least during first year.
