Absolutely disappointed because of college life in Wayanad.
Placements: This college has a good placement record. Almost all the students from our senior batch got placed in many companies including Wipro, Spider, etc. In our branch, most students got a chance to do an internship at BSNL Delhi, which helped them improve their skills.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite satisfying and most classrooms are more connected to nature and breeze. There are department libraries as well as main libraries, which is satisfactory. The laboratory is nice in our college. The Wi-Fi is free on the college campus. Means hostel and ladies hostel are very clean and good food is provided for an affordable fee.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members are very dedicated and honest towards there job. Most teachers are IITians and GECians and have good knowledge in the subject they teach. The teachers are the main positive of the college. The curriculum is KTU, which is good for students to understand engineering. Semester exams are not that difficult in the KTU if we study in a proper manner. The college pass percentage is 80 percent.
Other: We have fresher's day, magazine release, onam celebration, Halloween, and Teach Fest conducted by our seniors before in our college. The course ECE is nice compared to other departments.

The mechanical engineering program received NBA accreditation this year, providing more placement.
Placements: This year, the mechanical department got accredited, and placements have increased. Our students got placed in Tata Elxsi and Easa Al-Guru Groups. Many students secured positions despite their poor performance in academics, and there are still a number of supplementary exams ongoing.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is beautiful, with the entire campus enhanced by Wayanad's climate. The mechanical department is excellent, with dedicated and cooperative staff. We have libraries, Wi-Fi, and labs. The hostel facilities are also good, with decent food. There's a ground in front of the hostel where students play daily.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated, readily available for addressing doubts. The semester exams are moderately tough, with a 50% pass percentage in my class. Exams happen quickly, with series exams interspersed between them.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because of my passion for engines and vehicles. The hands-on nature of the course is its best aspect. College events are enjoyable.

The place beyond the hills.
Placements: Only a small percentage of students are placed from our college. I think the highest placement package is 18 LPA and the lowest is less than 1 LPA. Wipro is the top recruiting company in our college. A high percentage of students get internships in many companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not very good. There are library facilities available. Also, labs related to the Electrical and Electronics department are available. The college hostel is one of the best in the state, and the hostel food is very tasty.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They all graduated from IITs and NITs. The university semester examinations are average in difficulty. Most students don't study, so they get lower grades. The course curriculum is very relevant.
Other: I chose this group because I only got the cutoff rank for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I would like to acquire other skills besides my graduation degree. There are many events, campus crowds, connectivity to surrounding activities happening in our college, like arts fest, sports fest, and others.

Review of Government Engineering College, Wayanad.
Placements: You can apply for placement from the 3rd year onwards. It can be an on-campus or off-campus placement. Companies like QBurst, QSpider, TCS, etc. are some of the major companies that come for placement. An average package of 5 lacs per year is provided by the companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities over here are very good. There is a main library and each department has its own departmental library. There is free Wi-Fi available throughout the college. There are separate labs for each subject and also for departments. Very clean and fully facilitated hostels are there. There are two ladies hostels and one men's hostel inside the campus. Foods are very tasty here.
Faculty: The faculty members over here are qualified and also very friendly and helpful. Exams are not that hard; you can pass the exam with a little effort. The pass percentage is about 75–80%. There are five courses available over here: Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil and Environment Engineering.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of some faculty.
Placements: About 40–50% of students were placed last year, but they are not very big companies or anything; there are not that many top recruitment companies for our course at our college, but several small companies recruit some students. There are several roles offered in our course, and they are all great.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in our department are quite remarkable, but some classrooms and lab instruments are lacking in several ways. But the electronics and communication, or EC, computer Science department in our college is great in several ways; they have good classes and extra technologies compared to our department.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and very knowledgeable, but some of them are lacking in several ways. Some teachers are lacking in experience and knowledge. But 70% of teachers are remarkable. They are liked by students and very helpful. Exams are a very disappointing factor. Because the portions are not completed, but exams are happening.
Other: I chose this course because, in the future, I believe there will be a lot of interest in electrical and electronics. The world will change, and without electricity, we can't even live.

The life of GEC, which I had to go through for 4 years.
Placements: In our country, the basic package is very poor in this college, starting at 2.5 LPA, and some lucky people will get up to 8 or 9 LPA. Overall, it's bad, and most companies are startups or small-time companies. The internship opportunities are also very bad and rare. Basically, if you want a job, you will have to look for it for a long time in this college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are very good. The hostel is well kept, neat, and clean. Every class has a smart board and good furniture, and overall, it's great. The canteen has some very good cooks, and the food is also great. The hostel is very strict and does not promote the use of any kinds of drugs or liquor.
Faculty: The faculty is great, but except for the curriculum exams and everything else, which is very poor and bad, I don't think that an average person can manage. Most of the contents that we have to study don't make any sense, and they will not connect with what we have studied till now. But our teachers try their best to make us understand.
Other: I wanted CSE, but my KEAM ranking was low, so I got on with ECE, but this course is also great and very interesting, and the campus has a techfest every year. Overall, the people around the campus are all great and reliable.
